Snapchat is a social network for sharing photos. However, you can also use Snapchat to send short videos (up to 10 seconds) to friends. Like photos, videos you send will also disappear after playing. You can also add filters, stickers and other effects to your videos. In addition, you can have two-way video conversations with friends via Snapchat.

Method 1 of 3: Sending a Video Snap
Step 1. Open the Snapchat camera screen
This screen will open the first time you open Snapchat. On this screen, you will see an image from the device's camera.
Step 2. Tap the Switch Camera button at the top left corner of the screen to select the camera you want to use
After tapping the button, the camera view will change. With Snapchat, you can take pictures from the front or back camera.
Step 3. Press and hold the circular Shutter button at the bottom of the screen to start recording video. When you hold down the button, the video will be recorded. You can record videos of up to 10 seconds.
Step 4. Release the Shutter button to stop recording the video
Recording will stop automatically after 10 seconds. Once the recording is complete, the video will play on the screen.
Step 5. Tap the Speaker button to turn sound on or off your video
If you turn on sound on a video, the recipient will hear the sound of the video you recorded. On the other hand, if you mute the sound, the receiver will hear nothing.
Step 6. Swipe the screen left or right to add a filter to the Snap
You can choose from various filters available on Snapchat. Certain filters will vary according to location. Read online guides to find out more about Snapchat video filters.
The Slow Motion filter will double the length of the video. This filter is the only way to post videos longer than 10 seconds
Step 7. Tap the Pencil button to draw on the video
Use your finger to draw in Drawing mode. Change the color using the palette in the upper right corner of the screen. To use the Drawing feature further, read the guides on the internet.
Step 8. Tap the T button to add text to the video, and use the on-screen keyboard to enter text
You can drag the text box to any part of the screen, and rotate the text box with two fingers. To increase the font size, tap T again.
Step 9. Tap the Sticker button to add a sticker
You can choose various stickers and emojis for videos. Swipe the screen left or right to display the different categories of stickers, then tap a sticker to add it to the video. Tap and drag the sticker to move it.
Tap and hold the sticker to snooze the video. This way, you can attach a sticker to a specific object in the video. There are various guides on the internet to use this feature properly
Step 10. Tap the Send button to send the video Snap
You can select as many recipients as you want from the list of friends that appears on the screen, or send them as a Story that is visible to all followers for 24 hours.
Method 2 of 3: Video Chat
Step 1. Make sure you are using the latest version of Snapchat
Snapchat introduced the video chat feature in version 9.27.0.0, which was released in March 2016. Make sure you are using Snapchat version 9.27.0.0 and above to initiate and receive video chats.
Step 2. Open the Snapchat inbox by tapping the button in the lower left corner of the Snapchat camera screen, or swiping to the right
All of your recent conversations will appear.
Step 3. Open the Snapchat conversation of the person you want to call by swiping the screen, or tap the New button to select the contact you want to chat with
Step 4. Tap the Video Camera button at the bottom of the chat to start the call
The recipient may need to open the Snapchat app to view call notifications, depending on the notification settings they use.
Step 5. Wait for the person you are calling to receive the call
The recipient can choose to view the video, or join the video call. If the recipient chooses to view the video, you will receive a notification that the recipient has received your call, but you cannot see the recipient. If the recipient selects Join, you can have a two-way video chat.
Step 6. Double tap the screen to switch cameras in the middle of a call
You can use both the front and back camera on the device.
Step 7. Tap the Stickers button to use emoji on the chat
The emoji will be visible to both you and the recipient.
Step 8. Tap the Video Camera button again to end the call
The call will not be completely terminated, but the recipient will not see your video view. To end the call completely, close the conversation or switch to another app.
Method 3 of 3: Sending Video Notes
Step 1. Start a conversation with the person you want to send a note to
You can send video notes in an easier step than making a video Snap.
Step 2. Press and hold the Video Camera button
You will see a small balloon with your video in it. The video record feature only supports the front camera of the device.
Step 3. Drag the X button to cancel the recording
The recording will be sent automatically if you remove your finger from the button or record for 10 seconds. If you want to cancel the recording, drag your finger to the X button on the screen, and let go.
Step 4. Record a video for 10 seconds or release the Video Camera button to send the video automatically
Once the video is sent, you can't drag it.
