To create a fake fingerprint, you need the real fingerprint. At home, you can start this process by pressing one finger into a lump of putty. Latent fingerprints, which are the invisible oil marks left by your fingers, can also be used to create artificial fingerprints, but it takes some patience to set up some tools and perform the steps.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Using Putty and Gelatin
Step 1. Make a fingerprint stamp on a material such as putty
Putty, "Play-doh" (a brand of colorful artificial clay for children's toys), or modeling clay are fine, as long as they are new and clean. Round the material that you have chosen earlier into a ball, then press the finger whose fingerprint you will imitate on the ball.
Using hot, flattened paraffin wax will give better results, as long as you are patient with holding your finger for five to ten minutes on the surface
Step 2. Put the putty in the refrigerator or freezer to freeze it
The goal is to make the fingerprint print as hard as possible. Each material and brand will react differently to cold temperatures, so it's possible that this putty won't be reusable for caulking afterwards, but it is useful as an imprinting material for fingerprints.
Step 3. Make very thick gelatin
Boil a small pot of water, then gradually add the gelatin powder until evenly distributed. Keep stirring for a few minutes until the powder is completely dissolved. Cool the dough.
Step 4. Put the gelatin in the microwave
When the gelatin has cooled and thickened, thaw it in the microwave, then refrigerate it. Repeat this process until the texture is thick and elastic, and there are no more bubbles in the gelatin.
Step 5. Pour the gelatin on the fingerprint print
Once the gelatin is elastic and bubble-free, melt it one last time, then pour the hot gelatin liquid into the putty for your fingerprint print.
Step 6. Freeze
Place the mold putty that already contains the gelatin into the freezer. In a few minutes, the gelatin will harden into a solid and elastic substance. Carefully remove the gelatin from the mold putty. Be a fake fingertip with a real fingerprint on its surface.
Method 2 of 2: Using Advanced Techniques
Step 1. Read all the steps before trying it
With this technique, fingerprints can be made much more accurately without having to print fingerprints on putty, but you will need special equipment. Don't try it unless you have the following equipment, including a high-resolution camera or scanner, and a printed circuit board (PCB). Instead of PCB, you can use OHP transparent plastic, but the result will be less good.
Step 2. Use powder to detect fingerprints
This way, you can create fake fingerprints only with fingerprints left on the touch screen, doorknob, or other dry, shiny surface. To detect fingerprints, you can sprinkle the surface with granite powder from a finely ground mechanical pencil, or a special black powder for tracking fingerprints.
Best done on a white surface
Step 3. Take a fingerprint with a high resolution scanner or camera
For best results, scan or take pictures with a resolution quality of at least 2400 dpi. Load the image into the process computer with photo editing software.
Step 4. Reverse the direction and color of the image
Use image editing software to "flip" the image left-to-right, becoming a mirror image. Also invert the color of the image, so that the fingerprint that appears is white, and the background is black.
Step 5. Transfer the image to PCB or OHP
For best results, print the fingerprint image on tracing paper, then use a UV etching machine to transfer the fingerprint to the PCB. If you don't have these tools and materials, you can directly print them on OHP plastic, even though the results are less than perfect.
Step 6. Create fake fingerprints with granite and wood glue
The fingerprint image on the PCB or OHP plastic is actually slightly embossed, so it can be used to make fake finger tips. First, cover the image with granite powder, then top it with a thin layer of white wood glue or light latex.
A little glycerol in the wood glue will make it a little more moist and work well
Step 7. Remove the artificial fingerprint from the dried glue
After the wood glue dries, carefully peel it off the PCB surface, so it becomes a fake fingerprint. You can also cut a little bit to tidy it up, then glue it on your fingertips with eyelash glue or other skin-safe adhesive.
