Will you be traveling in the near future? Start with Step 1 to find out how to get through the airport without getting in line or looking silly.
Step
Step 1. Purchase your air ticket via the internet or an airline
It's a good idea to print out your boarding pass whenever possible, especially if you don't have any luggage in your trunk.
Step 2. Pack your bags carefully, and we recommend that you only bring one bag for luggage, and one small bag to carry in the cabin
Make your bag easily recognizable, for example by tying a ribbon or name tag, or choosing a unique colored bag/luggage.
When you pack liquids in your carry-on bag, such as lotion, shampoo, body oil, etc., make sure the volume is 90 ml or less. Put it in a Ziploc plastic bag. Remember the 100-1-1 rule: containers must be 100 ml or less, store in 1 liter zip-top bags, and 1 person can only carry 1 zip-top bag
Step 3. Try to be at the airport 2-3 hours before the scheduled departure
This is done to anticipate obstacles when getting to the airport, checking in (check-in), or passing security checks.
Step 4. Locate the check-in counter for your airline, usually via a marker outside the terminal building on the departure lane, as well as the airline's logo on the counter
Stand in line and wait for your turn. Usually there is a box to measure the appropriate size of your luggage bag. Also, don't forget that you should only bring one luggage bag and one carry-on bag. Have your ID card ready.
Step 5. Show your identity card to airline staff when prompted
When it's time to check your luggage, put it on the scales. Airline staff will label the bag and place it on a conveyor belt, or ask you to take it to a scanner. If you don't have a luggage bag, report it to the counter staff. Then, the staff will give you a boarding pass if you haven't printed it yourself. If you don't have a bag with you at all and have checked in online, this step can be completely skipped.
Step 6. Go to the security checkpoint at your departure gate
You will be greeted by airport security staff who will check your boarding pass and identity card (usually accepted ID cards are KTP or SIM).
- You are then asked to stand in line to be scanned by an X-ray machine and metal detector. You will be asked to place all bags, metal objects, and shoes on the conveyor belt to be scanned. If you keep a ziploc bag filled with liquid in your bag, take it out for a separate scan. If you have an object that will appear square on an X-ray, such as a laptop, tablet, or video game console, remove it for a separate scan. Take off the jacket or sweater as they will also need to be scanned.
- Remove all metal objects, including keys, jewelry, belts, etc. Then, remove the shoes and place them on the conveyor belt. If you are confused, politely ask the security guard,
Step 7. Obey the security staff when he or she tells you when it is time to pass through the metal detector or X-ray scanner to the other end of the conveyor belt, where you can retrieve your belongings
Put things back in your bag, put on your shoes, and leave the security checkpoint.
Step 8. Wait at the departure gate area
The gate number indicates the waiting area for passengers before they can enter the plane. The destination gate number can be found by asking airline staff, checking boarding passes, or viewing a monitor that lists the flight number and the associated gate number. Find your gate, which is usually marked with a large number pad corresponding to the gate number. Don't worry, this sign is easy to see.
Step 9. Sit in the gate waiting area and wait for passengers to be called to board the plane
Make sure you bring 2 fully charged powerbanks because flights can be delayed for up to several hours, and in large airports the power sockets are usually used entirely by someone else.
Step 10. Listen to gate staff announcements regarding departure times and provide guidance
When approaching the boarding line, you will need to present your boarding pass. The staff will check your boarding pass and return it to you. Sometimes, the staff will tear off the boarding pass and keep one of the pieces.
Step 11. Find your seat and place your carry-on bag in the storage area on the plane's ceiling
If you have another carry-on bag, tuck it under the seat in front of you so your feet can move freely.
Step 12. Enjoy your trip
Tips
- Don't panic if you get lost at the airport. You just have to ask one of the airport staff.
- Don't heed other people's pressures when waiting in line at security checks. If you forget to remove a metal object or don't take a box-like object out of your bag, you're wasting more time. Just relax, and do everything calmly without worrying about other people.
- When you go through the security checkpoint and retrieve your belongings, it's a good idea to grab everything, including your shoes, and head to a chair in the waiting room. That way, you can put things back in your bag and put on your shoes in peace, making sure you don't leave anything behind and don't keep other people waiting.
- If you carry a luggage bag, please pack any heavy liquid in it. Items that enter the trunk are not subject to the 90 ml rule.
- While waiting for flight attendants to guide passengers off the plane on a regular basis, it's a good idea to order a taxi, Uber or rental car by phone. That way you no longer need to queue at the car rental counter that is already packed with people. If someone else picks you up, take your luggage and look for the exit.
- For your safety, luggage bags should be properly closed and locked, and never left to prevent theft, drug smuggling, or damage to the items inside.
- Ask for help if you are confused. Don't be shy, and be confident!
Warning
- Don't make jokes about bombs, bombings or terrorists because airports will take them very seriously.
- The bustle and chaos at the airport can leave you feeling overwhelmed and confused. Inhale and determine the next step. Don't worry too much!
- Do not bring sharp objects because they will be confiscated
