Does your hair need special care to keep it moisturized? Eggs and olive oil, a cheap kitchen ingredient can turn your dull, dull hair into soft and shiny hair after just one treatment. Give your hair this treatment once a week to keep it healthy and shiny all the time.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Step
Method 1 of 3: Making a Mask for Dry Hair

Step 1. Separate the yolk from the white
To make a dry hair care mask, you only need egg yolks, no whites. Egg yolks contain fat and protein that can moisturize and rejuvenate dry and dull hair. Separate the yolks from the whites, then place the yolks in a small bowl.
To separate the eggs easily, crack the eggs at the end of the bowl. Hold the egg vertically over the bowl, then slowly lift the top of the shell. Move the egg between the two shell pieces repeatedly, letting the whites drip into the bowl, then add the yolks to the other bowl. As a substitute, you can also use egg oil

Step 2. Beat egg yolks or egg oil together with olive oil
Pour the olive oil into the bowl with the egg yolks, and beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy. You should be able to get half a cup of hair mask, which is enough to cover shoulder length hair.
- If your hair is very thick and long, add another tablespoon of olive oil.
- If you have short hair, reduce 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Step 3. Apply the mixture on damp hair
If your hair is slightly damp, it will be easier to apply the mask from root to tip. Use a fine-toothed comb to spread the mask all over your hair, making sure that the mask covers every strand of your hair.
- If your ends tend to be dry, apply more of the mask at the tips of your hair than at the roots.
- If you make more masks than you need, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Step 4. Let the mask soak in for 20 minutes
To keep things clean, it's best to curl your hair up, and cover it with a shower cap. Wait patiently for the mask to soak into your hair.

Step 5. Wash your hair with shampoo and cold water
The shampoo will remove the remaining egg and oil from the hair, leaving it looking soft and shiny free of dirt. Be sure to use cold or lukewarm water so the eggs in your hair don't "cook".

Step 6. Dry your hair as usual
Let it dry on its own or use a hairdryer. Your new, damp hair should now look softer and healthier.
Method 2 of 3: Making a Mask for Oily Hair

Step 1. Separate the egg white from the yolk
If your scalp produces a lot of oil, egg yolks are not suitable for your hair. Use only egg whites in your mask. Egg whites gently remove excess oil from hair, leaving them looking shiny and feeling soft. Separate the egg whites from the yolks, and set the yolks aside.
To easily separate the eggs, crack the eggs at the end of the bowl. Hold the egg vertically over the bowl, then slowly lift the top of the shell. Move the egg between the two shell pieces repeatedly, and let the egg whites drip into the bowl

Step 2. Whisk the egg whites together with the olive oil
Pour the olive oil into the bowl of the egg whites and beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy. You should get about half a cup of the hair mask, which is enough to cover shoulder-length hair.
- If your hair is very thick and long, add a tablespoon of olive oil or another egg white.
- If you have short hair, cut out a tablespoon of olive oil or use just one egg white.

Step 3. Apply the mixture on damp hair
If your hair is slightly damp, it will be easier to apply the mask from root to tip. Use a fine-toothed comb to spread the mask all over your hair, making sure that the mask covers every strand of your hair.
- If your ends tend to dry out, apply more of the mask at the tips of your hair than at the roots.

Method 3 of 3: Trying Other Variations

Step 1. Use eggs only as a hair conditioner
If you're running out of olive oil at home, but need a natural conditioner quickly, beat the eggs to mix the whites and yolks. After shampooing, comb the beaten egg from the roots to the tips of the hair. Leave the egg in your hair for five minutes, then rinse it off with cold or lukewarm water. This simple conditioner can be used for all hair types.

Step 2. Add extra conditioner
If your hair is very dry and breaks easily, you may need to add more conditioner than just an egg and olive oil mixture. Try mixing a tablespoon of one of the following ingredients to make your mask even more effective:
- Honey
- Aloe vera gel
- Milk
- Very ripe avocado or banana

Step 3. Replace olive oil with any other oil
If you are making a mask for the first time, olive oil is a great choice to start with. In the future, you may want to try another type of oil that is more suitable for your hair type. Try one of these oils next time you're making a mask:
- Jojoba oil: for oily to normal hair
- Almond oil: for normal to dry hair
- Coconut oil: for dry hair
- Beef fat: as a conditioner and prevents gray hair

Step 4. Scent to your hair mask
If you want to make a hair mask that smells like salon products instead of like it's made from kitchen ingredients, try adding a few drops of essential oil to it. A few drops of essential oil will instantly change the scent of your hair mask. While you wait for it to absorb, you can enjoy the aromatherapy benefits. Try adding five to ten drops of the following essential oils:
- Lavender Oil
- rose oil
- Lemongrass oil
- Thyme oil
- vetiver oil
Tips
- The longer you leave the mask in your hair, the softer you will get.
- Before applying the mask, try to massage your scalp for five minutes, to increase blood flow in your head.
