If you have too many passwords stored in your web browser, you may have problems updating them. If you're concerned about the security of your computer, you can help keep your online activity secure by removing your password. Whether for any reason or browser, the process of deleting saved passwords takes just a few clicks.
Step
Method 1 of 5: Google Chrome
Step 1. Click the Menu button (☰)
This button is in the top right corner.
Step 2. Select "Settings"
It's located at the bottom of the menu.
Step 3. Click the "Show advanced settings" link
This link is at the bottom of the "Settings" menu.
Step 4. Click the "Manage passwords" link
You can find this link in the "Passwords and forms" section.
Step 5. Find the password you want to delete
From the window that appears, you can use the search box at the top to search for a specific password. Move the cursor over the list of passwords and click the "X" button that appears to delete the desired password.
Step 6. Delete all passwords
If you want to delete all saved passwords, the quickest way is to go back to the "Settings" menu and click Clear browsing data… in the "Privacy" section. Check the "Passwords" box and select "the beginning of time" at the top of the window. Click Clear browsing data to clear all saved passwords.
Method 2 of 5: Internet Explorer
Step 1. Open the "Internet Options" window
You can access it from the "Tools" menu or by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner. If you can't find the menu bar, press alt=""Image" on your keyboard. Select "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu.
Step 2. Search for "Browsing history"
This option is on the General tab. Click the Delete button….
Step 3. Put a check mark on the "Passwords" and "Cookies" options
By ticking these two options, all saved passwords and login information will be deleted. Click the Delete button to delete your login and password information.
Method 3 of 5: Mozilla Firefox
Step 1. Click the Menu button (☰)
It's in the top right corner.
Step 2. Select "Options"
Step 3. Click the "Security" tab
Step 4. Open the password manager
Click Saved Passwords….
Step 5. Choose the password you want to delete
You can use the search bar at the top of the window that appears to search for a specific password.
Step 6. Delete one password
Click the password you want to remove, then click Remove at the bottom of the window.
Step 7. Delete all passwords
To delete all saved passwords, click Remove All. You will be asked to confirm that you want to continue this process. Click Yes.
Method 4 of 5: Chrome Mobile
Step 1. Tap the Menu button
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 2. Tap "Settings"
You may have to scroll through the screen to find it.
Step 3. Tap "Save passwords"
A window with a list of all your saved passwords will open.
Step 4. Tap the password you want to delete
Unlike the desktop browser, you can't search for "specific passwords" in this mobile version. Scroll down the list of passwords until you find the password you want to delete, then tap it.
Step 5. Remove password
After selecting the desired password, tap the "Delete" button. The password will be deleted.
If you connect (sync) Chrome with other devices, your saved passwords will be deleted on all your devices too
Step 6. Delete all passwords
Return to the "Settings" menu and tap "Privacy" in the "Advanced" section.
- Tap "Clear Browsing History" at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the "Clear saved passwords" option.
- Tap "Clear" and then confirm.
Method 5 of 5: Safari iOS
Step 1. Open Safari app settings
You can find these settings on the home screen of your device.
Step 2. Look for the "Safari" option
This option is usually located at the bottom of the fourth group of options.
Step 3. Tap on "Passwords & AutoFill"
You can change the password settings via this option.
Step 4. Tap on "Saved Passwords"
A list of all saved passwords will open.
Step 5. Tap the "Edit" button
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 6. Select the password you want to delete
After tapping the "Edit" button, you will be able to select all the passwords you want to delete. Once you are done selecting these passwords, tap the "Delete" button in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Step 7. Delete all saved passwords
Return to the Safari settings menu. Scroll down and tap "Clear Cookies and Data". You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete all data.
