The LRC file syncs the lyrics for the song currently playing by the music player. LRC is a simple document file format that, in addition to containing lyrics, also contains a time marker that sets when the lyrics appear. You can download LRC files online, or you can create your own LRC files if you can't find the file you want online. Follow the steps below to do this.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Searching for LRC files
Step 1. Find the LRC file you need
Since this file is rarely used, there are not many internet sites that provide LRC files. The best way to find the file you want is to enter the title of the song followed by the word “lrc” in the search bar. You can also enter the name of the singer of the song you want.
Use the search tag "lrc" so that the search results that appear later are only LRC files
Step 2. Save the LRC file to the computer
If the file opens as a plain text document, click the menu in your browser or click the “File” button. Then, select "Save Page As". Change the option on the "Save as type" menu to "All Files". After that, save the LRC file to your computer.
Step 3. Move the LRC file to the proper directory
LRC files must be stored in the same folder where the song files are also stored. The names of the two files must also be the same. If the LRC file name is different from the song file name, the media player cannot play it.
Step 4. Create your own LRC file
If you can't find the LRC file you need, you can create your own using Notepad or TextEdit. You'll need to enter the timestamps yourself which can be a little tedious, but after that you can be proud that you're the only one with the LRC file.
Method 2 of 2: Downloading the Plugin for Media Player
Step 1. Find a suitable plugin for the media player you are using
There are various options available. Most plugins can work on most commonly used media players. This plugin has a repository for lyric files that can be updated regularly. Using a plugin, you don't have to go through the hassle of downloading and renaming LRC files. Here are some frequently used programs:
- MiniLyrics
- EvilLyrics
- musXmatch
Step 2. Run the plugin with the media player
The installation process varies depending on the plugin you use, but generally it will run automatically when you play a song. The plugin will search for suitable lyrics for the song you are playing in its database and then display it.
Step 3. Add your own lyrics
If the plugin doesn't support lyrics for the song you're playing, add your own lyrics to help grow the community. You just need to enter the lyrics in a text file and upload them to the repository of the plugin you are using. The upload process is slightly different depending on the plugin used, check the instructions for the plugin.
