Method 1 of 2: Accessing the Service Menu
Step 1. Make sure you have the original controller of the television
While some non-LG, third-party, or universal controllers can be used to access LG television's service menus, you have a greater chance of successfully accessing the menus if you use the original controller that was included in the television's purchase package.
Step 2. Select a channel
Use the button INPUT ” on the controller to select “TV” as the input source, then select any channel.
You may not be able to access the service menu if you don't follow these steps
Step 3. Hold down the MENU button on controllers and buttons MENU on the television.
Press both buttons at the same time.
- On some controller and/or television models, the “ MENU " may be replaced by a button " SETTINGS " or " HOME ”.
- Some controller models require you to press and hold the “ OK ”.
Step 4. Release both buttons when you are asked to enter a password
Once you see the password field on the screen, you can release the two buttons.
Step 5. Type in the television password
Try entering 0000 as the first option.
Step 6. Press the ENTER button
This button is in the center of the controller. After that, the password will be entered.
You may need to press the " OK ”.
Step 7. Try a different password if necessary
If the "0000" entry returns no results, try one of the following codes:
- 0413
- 7777
- 8741
- 8743
- 8878
Step 8. Review the service menu
After accessing the menu, you are free to browse through it however you like. Usually, you can use this menu to change settings such as TV USB options, system sound level, and firmware version.
It's a good idea to take a photo of the television screen display or take note of the current settings so that you can return the television to its original settings if at any time you accidentally change important settings

Step 1. Make sure you have the original controller of the television

Immediately release the button because if you hold it too long, the television will display a different menu.
Step 5. Type in 1105
This code is used on all LG televisions to access the setup menu.
Step 6. Press the ENTER button
This button is in the center of the controller. After that, the password will be entered.
You may need to press the " OK ”.
Step 7. Review the installation menu
In this menu, you can find the option to enable USB mode on the television. You can also find other options such as "Hotel Mode" that affect how the television works.
