When the air is getting hotter, you need a fruit drink to cool down. This delicious and healthy smoothie drink can be enjoyed by every mango fan. Try the two methods below to see which one you prefer!
Ingredients
Classic Version
- 1 large ripe mango, peeled and cut into small pieces
- 2 ounces (250 ml) plain yogurt
- 5 ounces (150 ml) low-fat milk
- 1 cup ice, diced or crushed

- 3 mangoes, peeled, cored and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 tbsp (30 g) fresh lime
- 2 tbsp (30 g) powdered sugar
- 1 ice cube tray

Method 1 of 2: Making Classic Smoothies
Step 1. Cut the mango
Believe it or not, there is an art in cutting a mango. However, since the mango will be blended, chop it up to get as much flesh as possible. But don't take the seeds or skins!
To fully squeeze the mango, once the flesh has been removed from the seed, take the mango seed and squeeze it up and down with your hands. Your hands will certainly get dirty, but this ensures you get to the last drop of fruit
Step 2. Add the yogurt, milk, ice cubes and mango chunks to the blender
Make sure the ice is in small pieces so the blender can crush it easily. If you don't have plain yogurt or low-fat milk, you can substitute a different flavored yogurt and milk with a different fat content.
Step 3. Close the blender and puree everything
If it's too runny, add more bananas or yogurt.
Step 4. Pour into a glass
Serve and enjoy immediately!
Method 2 of 2: Dairy-Free Smoothies
Step 1. Cut the mango
The ideal cut is 1 inch (2.5 cm), but the size of the cut doesn't matter, as long as it's small. Ripe mangoes retain a lot of water and don't take much effort to blend.
If the mango can't be cut, it means it's not ripe. The mango should be soft and bright orange in color. Mango tastes very different when ripe and you need a sweet mango to make a great smoothie
Step 2. Add ice, lime and sugar to a blender
Then, add the mango. If you don't have lime, replace it with lemon or orange juice.
Step 3. Turn on the blender
Serve when finished. Add sugar to taste, if desired. Store in the fridge -- if you have any left!
