Finally place them in the broiler or grill for a crispy and delicious crust. Read on to find out how to make delicious ribs that melt in your mouth.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Preparing the Ribs for Cooking
Step 1. Pull the membrane that attaches to the ribs
Ribs are naturally covered by a thin membrane, which is usually located at the bottom of the skeleton, it can make the meat tough and tough if not taken. The membrane is very easy to tear; just put your finger under it and drag. Use a knife if you have trouble tearing it.
Step 2. Decide how you will season the ribs
You can start with simple seasonings like salt and pepper and add the sauce later, or use the dry seasoning you rub on the ribs to season them overnight before cooking. Both methods can make ribs delicious, and rich in flavour, so it's up to you which one you prefer.
- If you want to use a dry seasoning mix, you'll need to do this first because the marinade takes overnight to soak into the meat. Wrap the seasoned beef in aluminum foil and refrigerate it overnight before you cook the ribs.
-
Here is a simple dry spread that can make meat spicy, and rich in flavor. Just mix them together and spread on the ribs:
- 2 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp dry thyme
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Method 2 of 3: Grilling Ribs
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees
Step 2. Prepare the frying pan for cooking
When you are ready to cook the ribs, prepare the skillet. Choose a large skillet with 6 cm each side so you can comfortably hold all the ribs in one place. Stacking the ribs can also cause uneven cooking of the meat. Cover the pan with a sheet of aluminum foil with the tip hanging slightly over the edge.
- It's important to make sure the pan you're using is deep enough. The ribs produce a lot of liquid, and you don't want them to spill out of the pan.
- You can use a metal or glass pan.
Step 3. Pour water until it reaches a height of 1 cm above the pan
This will keep the meat moist as it cooks and prevent the underside from scorching. Pour directly onto the aluminum foil.
Step 4. Place the ribs over the face
The curved ribs should be facing up, and the bones should be touching the aluminum foil. Make sure the ribs don't pile on top of each other.
Step 5. Cover the pan with aluminum foil to form a kind of cover
First bend the edges of the first layer of aluminum foil, then add a second layer to form a kind of tent. Hook the aluminum foil over the handle of the pan to keep it in place. Make sure there are no holes.
Step 6. Place the pan in the oven and cook for 2 hours
Keep the ribs covered while doing this. The ribs are ready to serve when the meat separates from the bone easily when pierced with a fork.
Method 3 of 3: Serving the Ribs
Step 1. Prepare the barbecue sauce if you really want to use it
You can use pre-made sauces in stores or make your own. You'll add them in the last step of cooking the ribs, but you can start making them while the ribs are still cooking in the oven. If you want to make your own sauce, follow these steps:
- Saute cup diced garlic in a special saucepan with olive oil.
- Add cup tomato sauce, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon hot sauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, salt and pepper.
- Gently simmer the mixture for 15 minutes to half an hour, stirring occasionally.
Step 2. Remove the ribs from the oven and remove the aluminum foil
To give the outside of the ribs a crunchy texture, you need to cook them without a layer of aluminum foil.
Step 3. Turn on the broiler or preheat the grill
The method used to cook the ribs in the last stage is entirely up to you. Either with the broiler or the grill, both will give you delicious, crunchy ribs that will easily fall off the bone when you bite into them.
Step 4. Drizzle the ribs with the barbecue sauce
You can pour it directly into the pan.
Step 5. Bake the ribs for about 5 minutes
If you're using a broiler, simply place the pan in the oven, uncovered. For the grill, please place the ribs on the grill and cook until they are crispy on both sides.
Step 6. Serve the ribs
Give your guests some spare ribs and serve with extra barbecue sauce, if desired.
Tips
- Place them on the grill for 5 minutes when they are done.
- Unwrap it about 15 minutes before it's cooked and add your sauce on. This will allow the sauce to slightly cook with the meat.
