Sixth grade can be a tricky time for anyone, whether you're at the top or bottom of school. Wherever you are, sixth grade is a time when everything changes: your friendships, your body, and the people around you. If you want to be cool and popular, you just have to act like you're already cool, boost your confidence, and wait for the world to notice. If you want to know how to do it, just follow these steps and you are in the right direction.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Look Cool and Popular
Step 1. Have a wardrobe that suits you
Remember, clothes don't have to be branded to make you look good. Some good stores to try are Aeropostale, Roxy, Forever 21, Hollister, A'GACI, Rue 21, American Eagle, Justice, Target, Burlington, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree. Remember to buy clothes that are appropriate for your age. Don't copy someone's style because other people will think you're a copycat or pretend to be a fake person. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you choose the perfect outfit for you:
-
You can mix clothes and make it uniquely trendy to show others your style and imitate others a little, like stacking jewelry.
- If you have a uniform make sure it is not too loose. If your pants are brown and you have a choice between shorts, trousers, or skirts, choose shorts because you can do anything with them.
-
Tight jeans are in style. But remember, very tight jeans look attractive to some people, but not to everyone. Men should avoid tight jeans unless they want to look like a skater or something like that.
-
Ripped jeans are all the rage, and you can make your own! Ask for help from an older sibling or cousin who can help you not tear the holes straight, but thread them together. Before cutting your jeans, you can practice using the fabric, experimenting with tassels and cuts. Learn how to make "Ladder" Jeans.
-
Sweater! Cardigans are in style, as are light v-neck sweaters with tank tops for women.
- Very cute boot cut jeans with uggs! Make sure to buy a few because they go well with almost anything.
- Polo shirts are not geeky if you wear them right, so it all depends on how you look and how you wear them! Graphic polo, like a polo shirt with a dragon pattern or a race car, can be cool sometimes. Try a polo shirt with skinny jeans and shoes like a Converse or similar.
-
A plain polo with a base color is also good. However, if you want to buy a polo, buy it from Ralph Lauren or Lacoste. Ralph Lauren is famous for his polo shirts. If you can't afford a polo shirt from that store, Abercrombie, Hollister, Ardene, and Aeropostale always have good ones. Polo shirts may not look attractive on women who have large breasts, and are often a fitting size, showing that your jeans are fat.
- A hoodie jacket is very important. This jacket goes with almost anything! Make sure the hoodie is the right size, but looser can also look cute with tight pants. Girls can wear a combination of hoodie and skirt, with a hoodie that fits.
Step 2. Wear accessories
Accessories are important, but don't overdo it. Belts, long necklaces and stylish scarves are super cool. Earrings are good too; hoops and strands are trendy, but try not to be too long. Big trends are faux Ray-ban two-tone sunglasses, which can be purchased at Claire's or Icing, and wide-brimmed hats with skate or sports team brands. If your school is in uniform, don't cross the line because you might get in trouble.
-
Buy new shoes. Some good choices are UGG Australia, Nike free-runs, Converse (high top in style) Sperry's and Reeboks. While Uggs may be stylish, you can't wear them in winter. Water will enter and damage the wool inside. Fall is a good time to wear it. Whenever there's no snow, Uggs can be worn (however, you can't exercise in them).
Step 3. If you are a girl, look natural
Just use a moisturizer or lip gloss (shimmer lip gloss is really cute), and a little mascara, eye shadow (just a light one). Using thick eyeliner or foundation will make you look fake. Just a little bit on your skin can cover up pimples or dark eye bags. Some concealers contain acne medications. Sometimes you can just be natural too. Be sure to ask your parents before starting to apply makeup.
-
Most sixth graders don't wear makeup at all. This is perfectly possible. You shouldn't do anything you're not comfortable with and can wait until you're ready.
Step 4. Take good care of your skin
Clean your face once in the morning and before going to bed with the ideal cleanser for you.
-
If a pimple does appear, don't squeeze it, as this can cause tiny indentations on your skin called patches that last years after the pimple goes away. There is a special tool for removing pimples and blackheads with a loop at the end.
-
Before doing this, or even washing your face, you can fill the sink with warm water, place a towel over your head, and lean over the sink. The steam will open up your pores, helping the pimple cleaner to enter.
-
Try using a liquid cover first, then after drying use a powder cover. Washing your face more than twice a day will dry out your face, make it flaky and flaky, and will cause more pimples and then you will have bigger problems.
Step 5. If you are a girl, consider getting a manicure
You can also do your own manicure. You can go to Target and buy $20 nail polish and cheap nail stickers. You shouldn't use acrylic because it's definitely not your real nail. Beauty schools have trained students to do manicures for $5 instead of $20. You can also visit YouTube and learn to do any design yourself.
Again, if you don't like manicure, you don't have to get one
Step 6. It is always a good idea to keep it clean
Brush your teeth twice a day, use a mouth wash, and wash your hair as needed. Don't overuse styling products. Look for styling creams that come in containers, not pipes if you're a man. If you're a girl you just need clips, a comb for your hair type, a hair tie, a headband and a light hair spray. If you want a different type of hair you can buy a straightener or curler.
Oily hair is not that attractive. Make sure if you wear braces make sure to use clear tape. But with clear tape make sure you don't eat anything that could stain it
Step 7. Have a stylish hair
Layered hair is in style, as well as straight hair. If you decide to curl your hair (which is also trending) ask for help if it's your first time doing it maybe your mom can help. Some girls will add a swatch of color to their hair. The side bangs are also interesting.
Step 8. Have a stylish school bag
Carrying bags are stylish, but if you have to walk long distances, a backpack worn on the back is the best option. If you drive or walk to school you will need a backpack with padding on both shoulders. In addition to a more robust structure, most backpacks come with a water bottle holder and an outer pocket, something most sling bags don't have. Kipling backpacks are trending.
Method 2 of 3: Be Cool and Popular
Step 1. Make the other person feel important
This is the key if you want to be cool and popular. If people think that you think they are important, they will want to be with you. If you seem only obsessed with yourself, no one will want to approach you. Here are some things to do if you want to make someone else feel special:
-
Listen to what others have to say, and respond to show that you are paying attention.
-
Ask lots of questions to show that you care.
- Make the conversation about other people, not just yourself.
- Don't show off.
Step 2. Treat others with respect
Being popular doesn't mean acting like you did in “Mean Girls” – yes, it may attract attention, but that kind of behavior gets boring, quickly. Instead, you should try to be nice to people without pretending to make them feel welcome around you. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Avoid gossip at all times, or you will have a reputation as a gossip and no one will believe you.
-
Don't compete with other girls at school. It will make you look pathetic,
- Never be fake, or pretend to be friends with someone you don't like.
- Have sympathy and empathy for others.
- Compliment someone for their hair, clothes, shoes, bag, etc.
- Respect everyone, including teachers, friends, and other students.
- Be fun, natural, and friendly.
Step 3. Be kind to the opposite sex
If you're a girl, don't show affection for the guy you like maliciously to other guys, or he'll get scared and won't want to ask you out. In addition, do not play for sale. This will make a guy dislike it even if the television show makes it look like he likes it.
- You don't have to be nice to everyone of the opposite sex, but don't be mean to the person you like because you think it's flirting.
- If you're not ready to like someone else romantically or are trying to date someone, don't worry. You'll know when it's time, and you won't have to rush.
Step 4. Don't be afraid to talk to new people
When you feel alone and like you don't have friends or maybe you have friends but they're not with you, just say hello to someone. After doing this for a long time and starting conversations with other people, you will have a lot of friends.
- Try talking to some popular people and maybe invite them to a party or just go out together. Try not to look like you want to be popular when you do this.
- Don't leave your friends just to be popular.
- Treat everyone the same and treat others as you would like to be treated.
- Try to have lots of good and trustworthy friends.
-
Don't reveal too much about yourself, Make others curious.
Step 5. Let other people see you having fun
If you want to be cool and popular, you don't have to look pathetic, or like you're always trying to be with the cool kid or waiting for people to come to you. If you act like a party kid, people will think so too. Even if you're at a party and talking to people you don't really like, if you try to enjoy the conversation, laugh, and look like you're having fun, people will think, there's someone who's always happy, and they'll want to approach you.
This doesn't mean you have to always pretend. It just means you should always be deep into what you're doing rather than always wanting to do something "cooler" or "better"
Step 6. Build your confidence
Being cool and popular isn't just about looking like that, it's about "feeling" cool and popular as well. To do this, you have to be confident in who you are and know that you have a benefit to the world. Thrive in loving yourself and accepting the life you have instead of wanting to be someone else. This could take a few years, but you should try to truly love yourself instead of just being loved by others.
- Being confident doesn't mean thinking you're perfect. In fact, knowing your flaws and what you can improve on makes you an even more confident person.
- Being confident also means having confident body language. You should keep your head up, look straight ahead, and have good posture to make yourself appear comfortable.
Step 7. Stop caring about other people's opinions
Truly popular people are happy with themselves and don't try to please other people. If someone makes fun of your clothes or something you do, don't change your clothes or stop doing it. Instead, accept yourself and learn to ignore envious haters. It's okay to ask for help if you get lost, but you should avoid doing what other people tell you just because you think it will make you cooler.
- If you are popular, you will be able to set trends, try not to follow them.
- Of course, it was impossible to stop caring about other people's opinions overnight. But you have to try to be yourself to get started.
Method 3 of 3: Getting Engaged
Step 1. Be active in the classroom
You don't have to be the favorite child or the most engaged student to get a little attention. Be friendly, participate, and don't always be the class clown. If you stay in class or only talk to one person you know, you won't be noticed. You want people to look at you and think, at the very least, “Oh yeah, that girl in my English class…” You have to make an impression if you want to be popular.
- If you have a lab partner or do group work, be friendly and nice to the person, even if you don't think they are a match for you.
-
You don't have to raise your hand every two seconds to get other students to notice you. Simply participate when you have something to say.
- If there is an upcoming test, try forming a study group with several people. That can be a reason for you to socialize more.
Step 2. Join the team
Joining a sports team is a great way to socialize. If your school has a sports team, and if not, joining a recreation team will help you get to know more people. Being part of a team can also help you learn to work with others and make you more comfortable with a variety of people.
You don't have to be the most athletic person to join a sports team. You just have the enthusiasm and desire to learn new things
Step 3. Join a club Clubs are another great way to meet new people and try new things, especially if you don't want to join a sports team
If your school has a club, such as a newspaper or yearbook, joining one can be a great way to meet a variety of people who are interested in different things. The more people you know, the more popular you will be. It's all about getting to know as many different people as possible, not just being with the same "cool" kid at your school.
Joining a club can also help you discover new things you enjoy, which will boost your confidence and make you feel like a more dynamic person
Step 4. Engage with your environment
Spend time with the children in your neighborhood. Help the neighbors, and spend time outside instead of spending hours trying to improve your appearance on Facebook. So what if the children in your neighborhood are a little older or younger than you or they go to different schools? Spending as much time with different people as possible will make you a more social person and will make you look and feel more popular.
If there are older people in your neighborhood, they can help build your reputation, too – being popular in sixth grade doesn't just mean talking to sixth graders
Step 5. Be more social
To be popular, you have to engage with more social activities. Accept the invitation to the party even if you don't know much of the people who will be attending and get to know them. Host your own party and invite a wide variety of people. Go to the mall and the movies with your friends on the weekends instead of staying at home. And if an event such as a school dance or other after-school event exists, attend it.
The more people who see you out, the more you'll become a part of the atmosphere. You don't have to be the most popular person at a dance or mall to get to know more people and have fun
Tips
- Make sure your first impression on everyone is a good one.
- Spend time with lots of different groups, but make sure you're with the right friends. Say no to alcohol, drugs, sex, gangs, crime, and anything else that makes you uncomfortable.
- Try to make new friends, and spend time with many different groups. Never show off your social status, you'll sound arrogant, and it's not worth showing off anyway.
- Try to talk in groups. Don't just stand by and listen – do the opposite, but make sure you don't talk too much. Be part of the group.
- Don't exclude others. Involving everyone is mature and shows that you are a good person.
- This article is a help. We're not asking you to change yourself. Being comfortable with yourself is the most important thing.
- Try to defend yourself when threatened by bullying; You don't have to be defensive if you're awesome.
- If someone says something, and something pops into your mind, don't be afraid to say it, unless it's really mean and could hurt him or someone else.
- If other people start showing off, you can walk away, or you can say, are you ever tired of talking about yourself. Don't hurt other people's feelings, be nice, smile and try to fit in, but stand out in the crowd.
- Also, try to be funny! Everyone loves funny people who are fun to talk to.
- Always include people in your “group” otherwise many people will think you are mean and don't like you anymore.
- Treat others the way you would want to be treated. If you really want to be cool and popular, don't be mean to other people. Popularity is when other people idolize you and like you. Doing so means the opposite.
- To become a little more popular start being nice and interacting.
- Don't say mean things and do bad things to make yourself popular. It will hurt other people's feelings.
Warning
- Don't forget yourself after having lots of friends and start being talkative and mean and having lots of 'girlfriends'. Trust me, you will look very stupid and very playful to other people, especially people who are older than you.
- If you're going to have a boyfriend, make sure you're comfortable around him. Be friends first, then boyfriends.
- Don't drink alcohol or use drugs. Your body will thank you later.
- You're only in sixth grade, remember that! This may be your life now; but once you are in 8th grade or even high school you will wish your life was as simple and easy as it is now so don't worry too much about life, just enjoy it.
- When buying clothes and electronics, buy one made for your age. Many children are now trying to wear clothes from Hollister and American Eagle and buy cell phones like Blackberry and iPhone, but these are made for teenagers to adults. Don't rush your age, dress and behave accordingly.
- Don't be pressured to do anything you don't want to do.
- Middle school is the time when groups start popping up. Even if you shouldn't, other people will judge you based on your appearance. Just ignore. They don't deserve your time.
- If someone is mean to you and says you are ugly or too fat or thin, just ignore it, because school is just a part of your life, then you will go on to a good career and have a family of your own.
- Ask a trusted parent/guardian/adult about any questions you have.
- Don't look pathetic just to be popular. And if the “cool kids” misbehave and push you away, they don't deserve your time. Being yourself is the best way to be popular, it will come naturally but if you try to be cool, believe me, you won't be so cool.
