Making your own weapons is a fun way to hone your creativity and practice aiming at your enemies, whether you're playing with brothers or fighting with friends! Below, wikiHow presents a number of ideas, but the creation of shapes is limitless, and don't forget the most important rule: stay creative and keep trying! Get started with Step 1 below or check out the other sections to learn how to make toy weapons from axes to spears!
Step
Method 1 of 3: Paper Crossbows
Step 1. Gather the ingredients
You will need some paper, duct tape, masking tape, ice cream sticks, pencils, strong thread, cutter knife, ruler, and scissors.
Step 2. Make the bow sleeves
Take four sheets of paper and then cut them in half from the long side of the paper. Roll each strip of paper into a tube shape (use a pencil to roll it) from the short side of the paper. Cover the tube with tape at three points along the bow barrel and remove the pencil.
Step 3. Make the bow barrel
Take five sheets of paper, then stack them and roll them on the short side of the paper into a tube using a pencil in the middle. Stick the tape in some parts of the roll and then remove the pencil.
Step 4. Insert the arc arm reinforcement
Take a 4 cm long ice cream stick and attach it to the end of the tube so that the end of the stick is flush with the beginning of the tube, then mark a 4 cm length from the end of the tube on the outside of the bow barrel. Finally, insert the ice cream stick at the other end at a 90 degree angle from the previous stick and apply a layer of tape all over the bow barrel so it doesn't tear. Bend the bow arm at the 4 cm mark you made.
Step 5. Attach the bow arm
Pinch the end of the bow and place the short bow sleeves on either side of the end of the barrel. Tape it with tape to secure it. Make sure the position is very strong and tight.
Step 6. Attach the bowstring
Use a bowline knot to tie the two ends of the bow together. Attach the rope on one side, glue it with tape, then pull the rope to the other end and increase the length by about 2.5 cm, then stick it on the end and glue it well too.
Step 7. Add the trigger
Pull the bowstring back until the bow arm and string form a square. Mark the barrel of the bow in the center of the string to place the trigger. Use an x-acto knife (an interchangeable slicing knife) to make a hole in the barrel of the bow. Cut the tip of the ice cream stick and split it down the middle, then insert it into the hole to make the trigger. The trigger must be able to be moved slightly back and forth, and long enough so that it can protrude from the top and bottom of the barrel bore.
If you are a child, ask an adult for help to do this. You could get stabbed with a knife or cut your finger
Step 8. Make a place for the arrows
Cut a sheet of paper in half on the long side and roll it into two tubes. Flatten and glue the two rolls on either side next to the trigger. Then take another piece of paper, cut a quarter of it, then roll it up and place the roll of paper in the middle between the two bow arms. Make sure the loop hole is big enough for the pencil to pass through easily.
Step 9. Done
Pull the bowstring back and hook it on the trigger. Attach a pencil as an arrow, then shoot!
Method 2 of 3: Ax out of Cardboard
Step 1. Gather the ingredients
You'll need strong, thick, bulky cardboard, as well as glue, tape, and maybe even elbows for shelves that you can buy at a craft or building store.
Step 2. Design the drawing
Make the shape, blade and handle of the ax the way you want it on paper. The simpler the shape, the easier it is to make.
Step 3. Cut the design of the ax
Trace the image pieces on the paper on at least 4 pieces of cardboard (preferably 6 sheets), then cut them using a cutter knife.
If you are a child, ask an adult for help to do this. You could get stabbed with a knife or cut your finger
Step 4. Strengthen the middle
Take one of the cardboard pieces to place in the center. Glue the angle of the elbow in the L position between the handle and the ax blade. You can also place sticks or small sticks in the handle of the ax if you wish.
Step 5. Glue all the pieces together
Place the reinforced section in the center and then glue all the layers of cardboard together.
Step 6. Give the finishing touches
If you want, you can cut the edges of the ax blade obliquely using a cutter knife. When you're done, you can cover the entire ax with masking tape, paint it to make it look real, or wrap a ribbon around the handle of the ax to make it look like a real axe.
Step 7. Done
Enjoy your new ax!
Method 3 of 3: Ruyung
Step 1. Gather the ingredients
You'll need two long rolls of cardboard, like the one you usually place in the middle of a roll of paper towels. You'll also need aluminum foil and tape. You can make the ruyung a little more dangerous by adding weight (preferably using a butter knife).
Step 2. Place the weights in the center if you use them
If you're using weights, place those weights first. Take two butter knives, stick them upside down, then glue them together using masking tape. Wrap both knives thoroughly with tape so they don't separate and hurt you.
Step 3. Fill the cardboard tube
Cover one side of each cardboard tube with tape. Make a ball out of aluminum foil and stuff it into the tube. Continue to insert the ball of aluminum foil into the tube or surround the weight you created with a lump of aluminum foil and insert it in the center of the tube. Fill the jar until the aluminum foil is full and flush with the exposed top of the jar. Cover the tube with tape.
Step 4. Make the rope
Take several long, thin strips of tape, then fold them in the middle to make string. Weave the strips of tape into a rope. The rope will be used to connect the two ends of the tube with a length of about 15 cm.
Step 5. Attach the string to the tube
Unwrap the webbing in the area covering the cardboard tube and tape it, evenly spaced, around the outside of the tube. The webbing part of the rope will still stick in the middle.
Step 6. Close the outside of the tube
Wrap the tube thoroughly with tape and continue to loop until the string is also covered.
Step 7. Done
Enjoy your ruyung and be careful, especially if you use weights.
Tips
Always be creative and look for other alternatives if these things don't suit you
Warning
- Be careful when doing it. All of these ingredients can be harmful to you and others.
- Don't take it to school or work because you could get scolded.
- Do not shoot at another person's face or body.
- Play with care as these toy guns can be painful. Alternatively, you can use weapons made of latex or Larp which are harmless and look like real weapons.
