With a square sheet of paper, and patience, you can create three-dimensional balls/balloons or cubes that you can actually inflate like little balloons. In fact, you can fill it with water and make a water bomb!
Step
Part 1 of 2: Making Wings
Step 1. Fold a square sheet of paper diagonally, in both directions
The fold will form an "X" on the paper.
You are free to be creative by adding designs to the paper that will appear when the paper is folded
Step 2. 'Fold the paper in half
Do this by bending the bottom of the paper and placing it against the top of the paper.
Step 3. Bend the top right corner of the paper inward as shown
Then repeat on the other side of the paper. Firmly press the folds of the paper.
Step 4. Fold the wings up
Then, fold everything and repeat the same steps on the other side to make a diamond shape.
Part 2 of 2: Tucking the Wings into the Fold
Step 1. Fold the left and right corners to the center of the diamond
Repeat this action on the other side.
Step 2. Tuck the hanging wings into the crease you just made
Do this by making small triangular folds on each wing, then tucking them into the crease. Repeat this action for all four wings.
- If you're having trouble getting the wings into the crease, use tape to attach them to the crease.
- You can also use a pencil to open the folds easily and so that the wings are not damaged.
Step 3. Turn the folded paper over to the side that has no wings
Look for the hole in the center of this section.
Step 4. Blow the hole
The paper ball will bubble - don't forget to keep the wings tucked in.
- You may need to loosen the other fold of the paper a little so that the ball becomes round.
- To make a water balloon, slowly fill the balloon with water through a small hole.
Tips
- The tip of the wing doesn't have to go all the way into the edge of the paper. It would be better if the tip only goes halfway.
- If you don't make a good balloon the first few tries, don't worry. Just take a new paper and make it again.
Warning
- You can get injured by paper scratches.
- When throwing a water bomb, be careful not to hit someone in the face as this could cause serious injury.
