This wikiHow teaches you how to send a map of your current location to a friend via WhatsApp.
Step
Method 1 of 2: On iPhone
Step 1. Launch WhatsApp
The app is green with a white phone in the middle.
If WhatsApp is not set up, please do the WhatsApp settings first before proceeding
Step 2. Touch the Chats tab
This option is at the bottom of the screen. You can select the desired conversation here.
If WhatsApp immediately opens a conversation, first tap the "Back" button in the upper left corner
Step 3. Touch the desired conversation
Doing so will open a conversation with the desired person.
You can also tap the " New Message " icon in the upper right corner of the " Chats " page, and create a new message by selecting a contact
Step 4. Touch the + button located at the bottom left corner
A pop-up menu will appear.
Step 5. Touch Location
This option is at the bottom of the pop-up menu.
Step 6. Touch Send Your Location
This option is below the map that appears at the top of the screen. By doing so, a map containing a red pin (which indicates your location) will be sent. The recipient can touch the "Share" arrow in the lower left corner and touch Open in Maps to get directions.
Maybe you need to touch Allow so that WhatsApp can access your location settings.
Method 2 of 2: On Android
Step 1. Launch WhatsApp
The app is green with a white phone in the middle.
If WhatsApp is not set up, do the WhatsApp settings first before proceeding
Step 2. Touch the Chats tab
This option is in the upper-left corner. A list of conversations you have had will be displayed on the screen.
If WhatsApp immediately opens a conversation, first tap the "Back" button in the upper left corner
Step 3. Touch the desired conversation
Doing so will open a conversation with the desired person.
You can also tap the green " New Message " icon in the lower right corner of the " Chats " page, and create a new message by selecting a contact
Step 4. Touch the paperclip shaped icon
It's in the lower-right corner, next to the message box.
Step 5. Touch Location
You can find it in the bottom row of options.
Step 6. Touch Send your current location
This option is below the map that appears at the top of the screen. Next, a map will be sent to your friend with a marker indicating your location.
