This wikiHow teaches you how to save passwords to sites you enter in Internet Explorer. Doing so will allow you to log back into the site and its connecting services more quickly without having to enter a password.

Step 1. Start Internet Explorer
Do this by double-clicking the Internet Explorer icon (it's a light blue "e" with a curved yellow band above it).
Step 2. Click the "Settings" icon
You can find it at the top right of the window. A drop-down menu will be displayed.
Step 3. Click Internet options
It's at the bottom of the drop-down menu. Clicking on it will open the Internet Options window.
Step 4. Click the Content tab
This tab is at the top of the Internet Options window.
Step 5. Click Settings
The button is below and to the right of the " AutoComplete " heading in the middle of the page.
Don't click the button Settings located under the "Feeds and Web Slices" heading. This button will display a menu of other settings.
Step 6. Check the "Usernames and passwords on forms" box
It's in the middle of the AutoComplete window.
Step 7. Check the box "Ask me before saving passwords"
You'll find it at the bottom of the AutoComplete window.
Step 8. Click OK
It's at the bottom of the AutoComplete window.
Step 9. Click OK at the bottom of the Internet Options window
The changes you make will be saved and applied.
Step 10. Log in to one of the sites
Visit a site that requires you to sign in (such as Facebook). Type in your login information, then press Enter.
Step 11. Click Yes when prompted
When Internet Explorer asks if you want to save the password, click this option to confirm it. The password will be added to the list of saved passwords in Internet Explorer.
