This wikiHow teaches you how to buy books or literature from Google Play Books as a gift on your Android phone or tablet, and how to find online stores that sell Google Play gift cards that you can send to others.

Method 1 of 2: Ordering Gift Cards from Online Stores
Step 1. Visit https://play.google.com/about/giftcards via a web browser
You can use Chrome or another web browser to buy gift cards from the internet.
- While you can't buy Google Play gift cards directly from Google, most local services offer the option of buying online through other stores (eg Alfamart or Erafone in Indonesia).
- If you want to make a purchase directly through Google Play, you can send someone a book.
Step 2. Touch BUY ONLINE (“BUY ONLINE”)
It's a white button with a blue outline at the top of the page. You will be taken to a list of online stores or services that sell Google Play gift cards.
You can only buy cards online from the seller or shop shown under the heading Online or “Buy Online” (on the right)
Step 3. Select a shop or seller
The list of shops or sellers offered is different for each country. Touch the logo of a company you trust to open its online gift card order form.
Step 4. Select the card nominal
The options offered are different for each location and store. Touch the amount of funds you'd like to give someone to use on the Play Store, and the number of cards you'd like to send (if the option is available).
Some sellers or shops allow you to enter a specific amount, or select a nominal option from the drop-down menu
Step 5. Choose a shipping method
If the option is available, you can usually select “ E-mail ” to send a gift card by email. You can also enter the postal address of the recipient to send the card in the mail.
Step 6. Enter the recipient information
If you see an option to enter this information, type in the recipient's email address or home address (as needed). If not, you may need to touch the “ Add to Cart ” to add the card to the shopping cart, and access the cart page to prepay the card.
You may need to create an account with a store or service that sells gift cards before you can make a payment
Step 7. Follow the on-screen instructions to make the payment
Once the payment is processed, the Google Play gift card will be sent to the recipient by email or post.
Method 2 of 2: Gifting Books from Google Play
Step 1. Open Play Store
Usually, you can find this icon on your device's home screen or app drawer.
Step 2. Touch BOOKS
It's at the top of the page. You may need to scroll through the list of categories above to find the option, depending on the device you're using.
Step 3. Search or browse the book
If you know the title of the book you'd like to submit, type it into the white bar at the top of the screen. After that, touch the magnifying glass icon to search for the title. Otherwise, use the category options at the top of the screen to browse book options by genre or type.
Step 4. Touch the book to view its details
You can see prices, formats, descriptions, reviews, and other information about the selected book on this page.
If you don't want to give the book as a gift, touch the back button to access the book list
Step 5. Touch Gifts
It's a gift icon at the top of the page.
Step 6. Enter the recipient's name and email address
The book link will be sent to the recipient by email.
A copy of the message will also be sent to your email address
Step 7. Type in a message
You can add text up to 200 words long if you want.
Step 8. Touch Next
It's a blue button in the lower-right corner of the window.
Step 9. Follow the on-screen instructions to make the payment
If you've already linked a payment method to your account, select an existing payment method. If not, add a new method according to the instructions shown on the screen. Once the payment has been processed, an email will be sent to the recipient with instructions on how to get the book you gave away.
