Windows updates are generally quite large files and their periodic downloads may incur high data usage charges.
- “ Download updates but let me choose whether to install them ”: This option is more suitable if you have a suitable bandwidth, but with limited hard disk storage space. Windows will download the update and give you the option to choose which updates to install or remove.
- “ Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them ”: With this option, you allow Windows to scan for available updates. However, updates will only be downloaded and installed after you have made your decision.
- “ Never check for updates (not recommended) ”: This option prevents Windows from searching for, downloading, and installing any updates. If selected, this option will not cause any malfunctions to the system.
