Step 1. To type an accent on a PC, you can use various codes to create the accent you want to use
However, remember that symbols associated with "+" must be pressed together, and symbols associated with commas must be pressed consecutively. For example, if you see "Control + a, e", it means that you have to press Control and "a" together, followed by "e". Here is the code you should know:

Method 3 of 5: Installing a Spanish Keyboard on Windows XP
If you are using Windows XP, then we recommend that you install a Spanish keyboard if you want to type in accents regularly. Using codes is easy enough in an emergency, but if you want to type in a different language and want to accent files, create graphics, or use a word processor, you'll need to have a keyboard in that language installed.

Step 7. Select the spell checker
You will be presented with a list of options for the Spanish spell checker. "Spanish (International Sort)" may be the default option, but the other options are just as effective.

Step 8. Click "OK"
Once you are done, you can exit the control panel.

Step 9. Restart the computer
Once you have performed the above steps, you will see a small box on your system bar, in the icon set at the bottom right of the taskbar and screen. Clicking this box will give you the option to choose between a Spanish keyboard and a regular keyboard. Your Spanish/accented keyboard is ready to go!

Step 1. Use Microsoft Word
Another way that you can use to type accents in a word processor is to open Microsoft Word and select "Insert" > "Symbol" > "Symbol Browser". You can select the available symbols to enter the accent you want. Although this method is less efficient, you can use it if you only want to type an accent or two.

Step 2. Copy and paste
Find an accented symbol on the internet, select it, copy it by selecting "Edit" > "Copy" in your internet browser or by pressing Ctrl+C, then paste it anywhere by selecting "Edit" > "Paste" or by pressing Ctrl+ V. You can select a symbol on the internet and paste it in a word processor, or select a symbol in a word processor and paste it in your internet browser, etc.
