Teriyaki chicken is one of the most famous Japanese chicken dishes. With a few spices and herbs mixed into a sweet and savory dipping sauce, this chicken dish is perfect for any occasion. For a simple but elegant preparation, follow this handy recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg boneless chicken thighs
  • 2/3 cup mirin (Japanese sweet wine)
  • 1 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 4 1/2 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 7 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, finely chopped
  • a pinch of red chili flakes
  • a pinch of black pepper

Step 1. In a hot temperature, put the mirin in a saucepan until it boils
