This wikiHow teaches you how to access iMessage via iCloud. As of iOS 11.4, iMessages is available in iCloud. This means your messages are synced between devices. Messages you receive or delete on iPhone will also be sent to/deleted from your Mac or iPad computer. Before setting up iMessages on iCloud, keep in mind that all of your old messages will no longer be available.

Method 1 of 2: On iPhone and iPad
Step 1. Update device operating system to iOS 11.4
If not, update your iPhone operating system to iOS 11.4 or later. Read the article on how to update iOS to learn the steps for updating your iPhone or iPad iOS to the latest version.
Step 2. Open the settings menu or “Settings”
This menu is indicated by a two gear icon. You can find it on your device's home screen.
Step 3. Touch your name
The name appears at the top of the settings menu, next to the profile photo. The Apple ID menu will open after that.
Step 4. Touch
iCloud.
It's next to the blue cloud icon.
Step 5. Touch the switch

"Messages".
The “Messages” or “iMessage” app is marked by a green icon with a white speech bubble. With this option, iMessage messages will be saved to iCloud.
Method 2 of 2: On Mac Computer
Step 1. Update the computer operating system to MacOS High Sierra
If you don't have the latest version of macOS, you'll need to update your computer's operating system to MacOS 10.13.5 to enable Messages in iCloud. Search and read articles on how to update your Mac operating system for steps to upgrade your MacOS to the latest version.
Step 2. Open Messages
The Messages app is marked by a large blue speech bubble icon and a small white speech bubble.
Step 3. Click Messages
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen in the menu bar that appears after the Messages window opens.
Step 4. Click Preferences
This option is in the “Messages” menu. The “Preferences” window will open afterwards.
Step 5. Click the Accounts tab
This tab is the second tab at the top of the “Preferences” window. This option is indicated by a blue circle icon with a white “@” symbol in the center.
Step 6. Check the "Enable Messages in iCloud" box
This option has a box next to it that you can check, under the “Account” tab of the “Preferences” window. With this option, iMessage messages will be saved to your iCloud account.
