Some Minecraft players prefer to play nomadic, but for beginners, it's best to start by building a house. The house will protect you from dangerous monsters and lower the risk of death. Therefore, it's a good idea to build a house on the first day of your game's survival mode.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Preparing the House
Step 1. Find the location where the house will be built
You can build a house anywhere in Minecraft, but the best strategy early in the game is to find a high place (such as a mountain or hill) with lots of flat areas. The less grass that needs mowing, the faster the house can be built.
We recommend that you open an area of 10 x 10 blocks
Step 2. Create a crafting table
You will need a raft table to make the bed, but first gather the raw materials first.
Step 3. Make the bed
The bed is an important piece of furniture because sleep allows you to go through the night cycle and determine the spawn point; if it dies while exploring, you'll be back in bed. To make the bed:
- Kill three sheep and cut a block of wood.
- Turn the block of wood into four planks (plank).
- Place three wool blocks (same color) in the top row of the raft table and three boards in the middle row, then grab your bed (on Minecraft PE or console edition, just open the raft table and select the colored bed icon).
Step 4. Place the bed on the ground
You will need at least 2 blocks of space for the bed.
Step 5. Create a temporary hut
Collect about 20 blocks of dirt and use them to create walls that are at least 2 blocks high at the head and either side of the bed. This move will stop monster attacks while you are sleeping.
- If the bed is within a block of a higher layer of blocks, the wall on that side should be one block higher to compensate.
- When you sleep, protect yourself.
- If you play in " Peaceful " mode, you don't need to build a temporary house because the monsters don't bother you at night.
Step 6. Go to bed when night falls
As soon as it gets dark outside, fortify yourself in a hut and select a bed with the right mouse button (PC), left trigger button (console), or tap (Minecraft PE). You will be carried to sleep through the night. When you wake up, it will be bright again, and the mijah point will be reset to the bed.
Step 7. Assemble some tools
If you want to build a house from materials other than earth, you'll need the following tools to do the work:
- Pickaxe (pickaxe)- Needed to mine rocks, coal and other ores.
- Shovel (shovel) - Used for digging soil, sand, clay and gravel quickly.
- Axe (ax) - Used to cut wood quickly (and make wood strips).
Step 8. Create chests to store items
Open the raft table, place a wooden plank in every raft box except the middle (eight squares in total), then select the result (the chest) and transfer it to the inventory.
In Minecraft PE or the console version, select the raft table and select the chest icon
Step 9. Place the chest on the floor, then put the leftovers in it
Since there is a chance that you will die 1-2 times while collecting raw materials, it is best to store as many materials as possible in this chest. When you've brought only the things you need, you're ready to start gathering materials for the house.
For example, if you make two for each tool, keep one in the chest
Method 2 of 3: Making a House
Step 1. Determine the main material of the house
Stone (cobblestone), wood (wood), and dirt (dirt) are good choices, but stone is the strongest material and is quite easy to obtain.
- Depending on the location of the house, you may also be able to build it using sandstone.
- Try not to build a house out of gravel or sand as both are quite fragile and can't survive without blocks right under them.
Step 2. Consider spare materials
Materials such as wood and sandstone are great for beautifying a home so look for them when gathering key raw materials.
Step 3. Gather the necessary materials
Prepare a minimum of a full stack (maximum 64 per stack) of each material you wish to use, although more complex structures may require more materials, depending on the type of housing desired.
- If you are in a hilly area, you may need to dig down or venture into mountainous areas to find rocks.
- You will find coal (gray rock with black spots) and iron (gray rock with light gray spots) when digging for the main raw materials. Dig for the ore.
Step 4. Store the ingredients in the chest
For example, every time you collect a pile of rocks, return to the hut and save all 64 blocks to the chest. That way, the results of your hard work are now safe even if you die.
Step 5. Dig the foundation
Using a shovel and/or pickaxe, remove the 10 x 10 block from the area where you want to build the house.
You can make it smaller than 10x10 if you don't have enough time or raw materials
Step 6. Spread the floor
Floors are usually made of wood, but you are free to use any material you want! Just know that you need approximately 100 blocks of material to cover the entire floor of the house.
If you choose wood, you will need to cut 25 blocks of wood and turn them into a total of 100 planks
Step 7. Build the wall
In contrast to the hut, the wall height of the house should be at least 4 blocks. The easiest way to build a wall is to put a block of wall around the outer edge of the foundation, jump over the wall, and repeat until the wall is 4 blocks high.
Make sure you leave a gap of 2 x 1 block as a door
Step 8. Put the torch inside the house
Before you install the roof of the house, you should place the torch first so that it is not pitch dark in the house. Torches can be made by attaching coal or charcoal to a stick in the assembly section of the inventory.
- You can select the torch option in Minecraft PE or the console by opening the assembly menu and selecting the torch icon.
- Torches will also ward off monsters.
Step 9. Install the roof
The trick is to stand at the top of the wall, then place the roof blocks leading into the house. Continue until the entire room is covered with this roof floor.
If you want to make a slightly sloping roof, make a ladder on a raft table, place it on opposite sides of the wall, then taper towards the center of the house until the two meet. Fill in the gaps with wood or stone blocks
Step 10. Create the front door
You can make three doors by placing six wooden plank blocks in the first two columns of the crafting table. To be able to install the door, there must be a gap in the wall 2 blocks high and one block wide.
In Minecraft PE or console edition, simply open the crafting table and select the door icon
Step 11. Place the bed inside the house
"Dig" the bed using your tool or fist, then touch it to save it to your inventory. You can put it at home and sleep there to reset the spawn point. At this point, your house can be said to be finished.
Method 3 of 3: Giving the Personal Touch
Step 1. Create a window
Dig a 2 x 2 space on the outside wall of the house so that sunlight can enter. You can also make holes in the roof to make skylights (windows on the roof), but this will allow rainwater to enter.
If you have a fireplace and fuel (such as coal or wood), you can make window glass by adding sand to the top of the fireplace
Step 2. Add room in the house
Create a wall with stone, wood, or other raw materials in the house to divide it into several new rooms.
You can also install doors in these new rooms, if you like
Step 3. Create a path outside the house
Dig a path 1-2 blocks wide to the trail's destination point (such as a lake or ore-rich area).
Step 4. Create a second, smaller house to use as a shed
This building will come in handy, especially if you're playing on a high difficulty because you have a place to store your valuables quite a distance from your home. Thus, the chances of your hard work being lost due to being attacked by monsters are reduced.
Step 5. Build a fence around the property
The more blocks a monster has to pass to reach the property, the less chance it has of making it into your house. You can build a simple fence wall 2 blocks high around the house or property, or build a picket fence using a raft table.
Step 6. Install torches around the property
Torches reduce the chances of monsters approaching your property; So, the more torches you install, the better!
Step 7. Enjoy your new home
From here, you can explore more, stock up on supplies, and start building more houses to make your own village easier.
Step 8. Add depth to the house
Adding depth to your home will help it stand out.
Tips
- When laying out the bed, make sure there is enough room so that it is easily accessible and that you don't suffocate when you wake up.
- Always carry a few spare pickaxes so you can mine longer.
- To be safer, you should start mining from inside the house. That way, you don't have to leave your house and be free from the threat of monsters in the wild when you want to mine at night.
- Don't forget to put torches on the roof and around the house, if possible.
- Brick and stone can withstand explosions, unlike earth or wood.
- Digging a house on the side of a mountain is usually a great starting point.
- If you want to start digging in the mountains, try putting in TNT (dynamite) and lighting it with flint and steel to clear land, or simply start mining as desired.
- If you want to learn how to plan and personalize your home more efficiently, watch YouTube tutorials and learn how your home looks in real life. One of the good YouTube channels to watch is Grian.
- To save resources and increase the safety of the house, it is better to build a house in the hill and build the front of the house in front of the dug cave hole.
- Build a house on a high place that is advantageous when facing monsters.
- Make sure you always have food. Don't underestimate hunger. You can eat food raw, except chicken (chicken), because it can cause poisoning.
- The best type of base to build is a sky base. If you make one, make sure the base has an elevator to go down.
