PlayStation 4 (PS4) is a console game that allows several different users to log into the system. If you have to delete a PS4 user and don't know how, don't worry because the process is very easy.

Method 1 of 3: Removing Other Users from Main Account
Step 1. Log in to the primary account (primary account)
Turn on the PS4 and enter your account information, such as username and password. You must be logged in to the primary user of the console to delete other accounts.
Step 2. Open the “Settings” menu
From the home screen, move the left joystick up to open a menu containing various options. Use the left joystick to scroll and select menus. Swipe the menu to the right until you see a toolbox-shaped icon called "Settings". Press the "X" button to select it.
Step 3. Open the “Delete User” screen
In the " Settings " menu, scroll down the menu until you find the " Users " menu. After opening the menu, select the "Delete User" option.
Step 4. Delete the desired user
Scroll down until you find the user you want to delete. Press the "X" button to delete it and confirm that you want to delete the user. After that, follow the PS4 instructions that appear on the screen.

If you attempt to delete the primary account, the PS4 must be initialized. After selecting the “Delete” option, you will be asked to confirm that you want to reset the console. By resetting the console, you will restore the PS4 to factory settings (factory settings). Data that has not been backed up (backup) will be lost permanently.
To back up data, select " Settings " " Application Saved Data Management " " Saved Data in System Storage ". Select the "Cloud" option to store data in cloud storage or the "USB Storage" option to store data on a USB device, such as an external hard drive. Select the game or app you want to back up data for and select the "Copy" option
- Do not turn off the PS4 while the data backup process is in progress. Otherwise, your console will suffer serious damage.
Step 5. Check whether the user has been deleted successfully or not
Log out of your PS4 account and log back in. If the deleted user does not reappear on the user selection screen, it indicates that you have successfully removed it from the PS4 system.
Method 2 of 3: Restoring PS4 to Factory Settings Via Main Account
Step 1. Log in to the main account
Turn on the PS4 and enter your account information, such as username and password. You must be logged in to the main console account.
Step 2. Open the “Settings” menu
From the home screen, move the left joystick up to open a menu containing various options. Use the left joystick to scroll and select menus. Swipe right until you see a toolbox-shaped icon called "Settings". Press the "X" button to select it.
Step 3. Open the “Initialization” screen
In the "Settings" menu, scroll down until the "Initialization" option appears. After that, select "Initialize PS4". Select the “Full” option and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. This step will restore the PS4 to factory settings and delete data that wasn't backed up, such as Trophy, screenshots, and more.
- To back up data, select " Settings " " Application Saved Data Management " " Saved Data in System Storage ". Select the "Cloud" option to store the data in cloud storage or the "USB Storage" option to store the data on a USB device, such as an external hard disk. Select the game or app you want to back up data for and select the "Copy" option.
- The process of restoring the PS4 to factory settings will take a few hours. Make sure you don't turn off the PS4 while the recovery process is in progress. Otherwise, your console will suffer serious damage.
Method 3 of 3: Deleting Users by Manually Restoring PS4 to Factory Settings
Step 1. Back up data for important data
Select " Settings " " Application Saved Data Management " " Saved Data in System Storage ". Select the "Cloud" option to store data in cloud storage or the "USB Storage" option to store data on a USB device, such as an external hard disk. Select the game or app you want to back up data for and select the "Copy" option.
Step 2. Turn off the PS4 manually
Hold down the power button for a few seconds. Wait for the console to sound and the light to turn red. After that, lift your finger.
Step 3. Turn on PS4 manually
Press and hold the power button again. You will hear a sound followed by a second sound about 7 seconds later. Lift your finger from the button.
Step 4. Select the “Restore Default Settings” option
When the PS4 is turned on, the console will enter "Safe Mode". Use the left joystick to scroll down the screen until the “Restore Default Settings” option appears on the screen. Press the “X” button to select it and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. This will restore the PS4 to factory settings and erase all data that wasn't backed up, such as Trophy, screenshots, and more.
- The controller must be connected to the console via a USB cable while the console is entering "Safe Mode".
