This wikiHow teaches you how to manually back up iPhone data (such as notes and photos) to an iCloud account.

Method 1 of 2: Connecting Phone to Wi-Fi
Step 1. Tap the gray cog icon (⚙️) on the main screen of your phone to access the Settings app
Step 2. Tap the Wi-Fi option at the top of the Settings menu
To back up data, your phone must be connected to Wi-Fi
Step 3. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the On position until the button turns green
Step 4. Tap on a Wi-Fi network to select it
If prompted, enter the network password
Method 2 of 2: Backing up iPhone
Step 1. Open Settings
If you are still on the Wi-Fi settings screen, tap Settings in the upper left corner of the screen to return to the main Settings screen. Otherwise, follow the steps above to access the app.
Step 2. Tap on your Apple ID
Your Apple ID will appear at the top of the screen, along with your name and photo (if applicable).
- If you're not signed in to your Apple account, tap Sign in to your iPhone, enter your Apple ID and password, then tap Sign in.
- If you are using an older version of iOS, you may not need to do this step.
Step 3. Tap iCloud in the second part of the menu
Step 4. Select the data to back up to iCloud
Slide an app in the list, such as Notes or Calendars, to the On position until the button turns green. Thus, the data on the application will also be backed up.
Data on apps in the Off (white) position will not be backed up
Step 5. Swipe the screen, then tap iCloud Backup under the second part of the menu
If you're using an older version of iOS, this option might be labeled Backup.
Step 6. Slide the iCloud Backup option to the On position until the button turns green
Step 7. Tap Back Up Now
A manual backup of the selected iPhone content will begin.
