PayPal can be used worldwide to make and receive payments over the Internet, eliminating the need for paper transactions. You can top up your PayPal balance electronically if you have a confirmed bank account and a PayPal Debit card linked to your PayPal account.

Method 1 of 2: Using MoneyPak
Step 1. If you don't have an account or credit card yet, use MoneyPak
Step 2. Add money to your PayPal account using MoneyPak
This feature allows you to add money if you don't have a PayPal Debit MasterCard or a confirmed bank account.
- Visit a specific PayPal MoneyPak retail location. To find a location near your area, visit the locator website.
- Purchase a MoneyPak card for the amount that will be added to your PayPal account.
- Sign in to your PayPal account.
- Enter the MoneyPak number to add funds directly to your account.
Method 2 of 2: Adding Money Using Balance Manager
Step 1. Sign in to your PayPal account
If you need a PayPal debit card, you can apply for it on the PayPal website. The requirements to get a PayPal Debit MasterCard® are:
- Have a Premier or Business account in the United States.
- Be a PayPal member for at least 60 days.
- Have a real address and not a post box. If your physical address is associated with another credit card, you can use it to confirm your address for PayPal.
- Provide Social Security number and date of birth.
- Being an active PayPal member is in good standing.
Step 2. Apply for a debit card
Step 3. Click Products & Services on the toolbar at the top of the web page
Step 4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click PayPal Debit Card
Step 5. Click Apply Now and follow the instructions
Step 6. Add money to your PayPal balance
Before you can add money, you must set up a Balance Manager.
- Sign in to your PayPal account.
- Click the My Accounts tab.
- Click Add Funds at the top of the page.
- Click Balance Manager.
- Select the bank account to use for the transfer.
- Select Schedule regular transfers or Set a minimum amount. You can choose the dollar amount and transfer frequency. For example, you can choose to transfer $50 each week from a specific bank account. If you don't want a regular transfer, you can choose to set a minimum amount. For example, if you want your PayPal balance to remain at least $100, you can choose to transfer money from your bank account so that the minimum PayPal account balance is what you want.
- Enter the required information and click Set Up.
- Review the selection you made and then click Confirm.

- PayPal uses secure data encryption and secure physical servers that are not directly connected to the Internet.
- There is no fee to use the MoneyPak method, and you can add up to $4,000 every month.
