Method 1 of 3: Making Traditional Taste Nachos
Step 1. Prepare all the ingredients
In general, classic taste nachos are made of two main ingredients, namely chips and cheese. After preparing both, enrich the taste of the nachos by adding a variety of favorite complementary ingredients, such as:
- Tortilla chips: use tortilla chips made from wheat flour or cornstarch. Most importantly, use the freshest tortillas you can find! The perfect tortilla chips are thick enough to lift up a variety of heavy enough accompaniments, but not too thick to allow the flavors of the other ingredients to stand out.
- Cheese: cheddar is the most commonly used, although you can also use grated mozzarella, monterey jack, or cotjia cheese. Combine several types of cheese to enrich the color of the nachos, if desired.
- Salsa sauce: choose your favorite type of salsa sauce, although what is commonly paired with nachos is pico de gallo (salsa sauce made from various raw ingredients).
- Sour cream: preferably, do not use sour cream that does not contain fat. Remember, it is the fat in sour cream that contributes greatly to the deliciousness of the nachos and is able to balance the spicy taste of the nachos.
- Pickled jalapeo peppers: this option can be purchased at most major supermarkets, but it's best to skip it if you don't like spicy food.
- Beans: Black beans or refried beans (Mexican mashed beans) are the most popular options to pair with a plate of nachos to enhance the taste.
- Beef: season ground beef or shredded chicken to taste. In fact, adding meat that has been seasoned and cooked to perfection can enrich the taste of nachos in an instant.
Step 2. Arrange the nachos on the baking sheet
To practice this recipe, you can use a pie or casserole pan. If the nachos are going to be baked in the microwave instead of the oven, use a special dish to heat the food in the microwave instead of a baking sheet.
Step 3. Add cheese
Sprinkle as much cheese as possible on the surface of each chip piece evenly.
Step 4. Bake the nachos
In fact, nachos baked in the oven or microwave will be just as delicious. Therefore, you can use one of the following two options:
- Bake nachos using a broiler. Place the oven rack about 15 cm below the heat source and bake the nachos until the cheese is melted, about 5 minutes. Be careful not to burn the cheese! Once the cheese has melted, remove the nachos and let them sit for a few minutes at room temperature to cool slightly.
- Bake the nachos in the microwave. On high strength, microwave the nachos. Once cooked, remove the nachos and let sit at room temperature for a few minutes until they cool down.
Step 5. Enrich the taste of nachos
Add a dollop of sour cream to the top of the nachos, then sprinkle the top with chopped jalapeno peppers and salsa sauce.
Step 6. Serve and enjoy the nachos
Before eating classic taste nachos, don't forget to prepare a handkerchief! If you want, you can also prepare a fork. After that, dip the nachos in the sour cream, then use the sour cream-covered nachos to scoop out the jalapeo peppers, and eat the nachos right away!
- Nachos taste classic delicious paired with a variety of favorite meats and/or vegetables. Generally, side dishes that are commonly served with nachos are ground beef, grilled beef or chicken steak, sautéed mushroom slices, chopped raw onions, black olives, and grated lettuce.
- Nachos in individual portions can be served in small plates or bowls. Simply separate the chips into individual portions and melt the cheese before adding various other toppings.
Method 2 of 3: Making Nachos with Barbecue Meat
Step 1. Prepare all the necessary materials
In fact, nachos with barbecue meat are a delicious option to replace the classic nachos recipe. To make it, you just need to prepare potato chips and combine them with delicious barbecue meat. Let's go to the supermarket to buy the following ingredients:
- Potato chips: use plain or flavored potato chips of any texture.
- Cheese: choose pepperjack, cheddar, or even a mixture of both, which has been grated.
- Salsa sauce: pico de gallo is the most suitable option to use, especially since other salsa variants are generally too strong in taste so they are prone to collide with the strong taste of barbecue sauce.
- Sour cream: although its use can be overlooked, understand that sour cream is delicious when paired with barbecue sauce!
-
Barbecue: Shredded pork can be purchased at most supermarkets or butcher shops. Make sure you buy the barbecue sauce too, okay?
- Barbecue chicken is also delicious to use, you know! However, remove the bones first to maximize your dining experience.
- Vegetarian chile or baked beans are also suitable for replacing meat.
Step 2. Arrange the potato chips on the baking sheet
Choose a pan that is appropriate for the type of cooking utensil you will be using, such as a pan that is safe for use in the microwave or broiler. Make sure the portion of chips is enough to cover the entire bottom of the pan, yes!
Step 3. Sprinkle the surface of the nachos with cheese
Make every effort to spread the cheese evenly over the entire surface of the nachos.
Step 4. Bake the nachos
If the nachos are broiling, place the oven rack about 15 cm below the heat source and bake the nachos until the cheese is melted, about 5 minutes. If using the microwave, bake the nachos on high for 2 minutes. Then, refrigerate the nachos for a few minutes before serving.
Step 5. Increase the deliciousness of the nachos
Pour a dollop of sour cream and salsa sauce over the top of the nachos, then place the barbecue meat in the middle. Don't forget to put a variety of extra accompaniments on the side of the plate.
Step 6. Serve and enjoy the nachos
Since this dish contains meat, don't forget to provide a fork for guests to use. Arrange the nachos on a serving plate, and serve with various extras on the side.

Step 6. Complete the delicious tortilla
