Step 1. Launch Minecraft Launcher

Minecraft Launcher can be used to load older versions of Minecraft. This method works as long as you're using Minecraft 1.14.3 or later.

Step 3. Click + New

Step 6. Select the desired directory in the "Game Directory" menu

If the options are left as is (Use default directory), Minecraft will save the old version data in the default directory. However, if you want to play games older than version 1.6, you'll need to select a different folder. Select the desired directory by clicking Browse.

Step 7. Click the Create button

It's in the lower right corner. The old version of the game will be added to your install list.
