The iron golem is a hefty mob that protects the villagers. These creatures can naturally spawn within a village, but most naturally occurring villages are too small to be spawning grounds. Iron golems can be crafted in the latest versions of Minecraft, including Pocket Edition.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Making Golems
Step 1. Make 4 iron blocks
You can make 1 iron block by mixing 9 iron ingots on the crafting table. To make one iron golem, you need 4 iron blocks (36 iron ingots).
If you don't have a lot of iron, learn how to find iron quickly
Step 2. Find the pumpkin
Pumpkins can grow on grass blocks that have air on them (but not tall grass or snow). The most overgrown with pumpkins is in the plains biome. To make one iron golem, you will need one pumpkin (or jack o' lantern).
You only need one pumpkin to create a pumpkin farm and grow it with as many pumpkins as you can. The first step, turn one pumpkin into 4 pumpkin seeds on the crafting screen. Plant the seeds on agricultural land near water. Provide one block of bare soil for each seed. Pumpkin will grow on the empty block
Step 3. Look for an open area
The space used must be at least 3 blocks wide by 3 blocks high, but you should make it in a wider area. If you create a golem near a wall, there is a chance that the golem will spawn inside the wall and die from suffocation.
Remove any tall grass or flowers in the area before you start making it. These two things sometimes make the golems unable to spawn
Step 4. Place the 4 iron blocks in the shape of the letter T
Place 1 iron block on the ground. Place another 3 blocks in order on top of the first one to form a "T". This will be the body of the iron golem.
Step 5. Place the pumpkin or jack-o-lantern on top of the T-shape
Place the pumpkin on top of the block in the center so that it forms a cross. This thing will instantly turn into an iron golem.
You must place the pumpkin last. Otherwise, the iron golems would not spawn
Part 2 of 2: Using the Iron Golem
Step 1. Let the iron golem protect the village
When the iron golem senses a village nearby, the golem will go around and patrol there. This form of defense isn't as good as a good wall and torch, but it can be entertaining to watch the golems give flowers to the villagers.
Unlike iron golems that spawn naturally, these homemade golems will never attack you, even if you perform actions that are dangerous to themselves or the villagers
Step 2. Fence the golems inside
Put up barriers to keep the golems inside instead of going around protecting the villagers. The iron golem also won't go away if you plant vines around the house.
Step 3. Attach the leads to the iron golem
Leads can be used to make an iron golem follow you, or to tie a golem to a fence (although a golem won't provide good protection if tied). Make a lead from 4 ropes and 1 slimeball.
Tips
It's a good idea to build a barrier or fence first before making a golem
Warning
- If you build a golem near a wall, this creature can spawn inside the wall, suffocate, and die.
- You'll need to place the last block yourself in order for the iron golems to spawn. There are no pistons here!
- Golems cannot be crafted on the crafting table.
- While player-created golems shouldn't attack their creators, some players using Pocket Edition reported a bug that their custom-made golems attacked back when hit.
