Monsters in Minecraft can open doors, although the chances are slim. If the zombies manage to get in, your house will turn into a killing room. Protect the house with a combination of iron doors and mechanisms that monsters can't use. The door lock is made using redstone, and the method will be explained as follows.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Simple Iron Door
Step 1. Make the iron door
Refining six iron rods, then open the craftsman's table. Arrange the bars in a 2 x 3 pattern. Slide the door into your inventory and place it wherever you want.
If the door wants to be taken back, attack it with an ax (because it's the fastest). Do not attack with bare hands, because the door will be destroyed
Step 2. Define the door controls
The iron door cannot be opened by hand. You must make one of the following items to open the door:
- Lever: Use once to open the door, use twice to close it.
- Pressure detection plate: Just walk on it to open the door, then the door will close automatically if the plate is not stepped on. This plate can be used by monsters, so place it in the room.
- Knob: The door will open for a moment, then automatically closes. Safer than pressure detection plates.
Step 3. Place the controls next to the door
Place the door control devices according to the following options:
- Lever: Assemble on a stone block. Place it next to, above or below the door.
- Pressure detection plate: Assemble two new blocks on the same line. Place it on the ground in front of the door in the room.
- Knob: Place one stone block yourself in the assembly area. Place the button next to the door.
Step 4. Add a way to re-enter the room
Your door can only be opened from one side. This lock method is easy and effective, but quite inconvenient. Here are some ways to re-enter the room without being followed by a horde of monsters:
- Put the second button outside the house. The button cannot be used by monsters, unless the arrow that is shot accidentally hits the button.
- Bring a second pressure detection plate and place it in front of the door when you return to the room. Once you enter, stand on the plate inside the house and grab the plate outside the house.
- Create a secret passage and cover the entrance with easy-to-remove blocks.
- It is not recommended to use two levers, as you can get locked up if the remote lever is in the “closed” position.
Method 2 of 2: Redstone Powered Door
Step 1. Create two redstone repeaters
Open your raft table and place a pile of redstone in the center. Place redstone torches on either side, then three stone blocks on the bottom row.
- Find redstone ore deep in the ground (at least 47 blocks below sea level.) Dig with an iron or diamond pickaxe. Also dig some extra redstone to spare.
- Assemble a redstone on a stick to make a redstone torch.
Step 2. Make a metal door and two pressure detection plates
Place the metal door and then place the plate on the outside of the door, but not too close to make it inactive. Keep the second plate in your inventory for now.
- Assemble an iron door with iron bars in a 2 x 3 pattern.
- Assemble the detection plate with two blocks of stone or wood placed side by side.
Step 3. Connect the plate with a repeater, then connect it to the door
Place the redstone directly on the surface of the solid, opaque block next to the plate. Draw a redstone line from the plate to the repeater, then another line from the repeater to the door.
- Make sure the lines on the repeater connect to the redstone lines.
- You can hide redstone underground to make the entrance look neat. However, do a test run first.
Step 4. Place the lever on the inner side of the room
Normally, pressure detection plates could also be used by monsters. You need to block the redstone joints to lock the door. The first thing to do is to place the lever near the inside of the door, but don't place it right next to it.
Assemble a lever by placing a stone block on top of a stick
Step 5. Put the second repeater to block the first repeater
Rotate 90 degrees and place the second redstone repeater next to the first. The torch line visible on the first repeater must be at right angles to the second repeater. When this second repeater is active, the first repeater will be blocked. Thus, the connection between the pressure detection plate and the door is broken.
Step 6. Connect the lever with the second repeater
Use another line of redstone to connect the lever to the second repeater. As before, make sure the redstone line meets the line shown on the repeater.
Step 7. Do a test run
Walk through the plate from the outside and through the door. Wait for the door to close, then slide the lever to the "on" position. This lever will lock the door because the plate outside the room is not working.
Step 8. Exit the room with the second plate
Place the second plate in front of the indoor door. This plate is not attached to redstone, so you can use it to go outdoors. But be careful, if the lever is in the lock position, you will be locked in the room.
