This wikiHow teaches you how to re-access a post or snap you received from a contact or a friend's Story post on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. Snapchat allows you to open or play a received post one more time.
After opening the post, you must remain on the “Friends” page in order to play the photo or video again.

Method 1 of 2: Playing Back Posts Received
Step 1. Open Snapchat
Find and touch the icon
on the home screen or application menu to open Snapchat.
Step 2. Swipe the camera page towards the right
You will be taken to the " Friends " page. A list of all recently received submissions will be displayed afterwards.
Step 3. Tap the unopened post or snap
The post will be opened and displayed for the first time.
Step 4. Don't switch from the " Friends " page
If you access another page (eg profile or camera page), you cannot play or reopen previously opened posts.
- Also, don't close the Snapchat app. If you close the app or switch to another app, you won't be able to play back the posts you've viewed.
- Make sure you don't see any other posts. If you open another post after viewing the first post, you will not be able to access the first post again. You can only play back the most recently opened posts.
Step 5. Press and hold the post that has been opened
The pink or purple chat box on the left will fill up again with color until it's full.
- You can see the message " Press and hold to replay ” under the contact's username. This means the post is ready to reopen.
- When the chat box is filled again, the message " Press and hold to replay "will change to" New Snap ”.
- The first time you do this, you may see a confirmation message indicating that you can reopen the post once. Touch the button “ Replay ” in the pop-up window.
Step 6. Touch the post again
Once the pink and purple squares are completely filled, touch a friend's name to replay the post.
Once opened for the first time, you can only replay or reopen each received post once
Method 2 of 2: Replaying Story Posts
Step 1. Open Snapchat
Find and touch the icon
on the home screen or application menu to open Snapchat.
Step 2. Swipe the camera page towards the left
You will be taken to the "Discover" page afterwards.
You can see all of your friends' Story posts under the " Friends " section at the top of the screen
Step 3. Touch a friend's post to view it
Once touched, the post will be displayed or played for the first time.
The post preview image will turn into a circular arrow once you view the post for the first time
Step 4. Touch the circular arrow icon on a friend's post
After that, the Story submission will be opened or played again.
