Method 1 of 2: Using the Lense Feature
Step 1. Open the Snapchat app
This app is marked by a yellow icon with a white ghost.
Step 2. Double-tap the Snapchat camera page
The front camera of the device will be activated.
- You can also activate the front camera by touching the camera switch button in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Make sure your face is fully displayed on the screen and that you are in a bright area.
Step 3. Touch and hold your face display on the screen
The grid will appear and disappear above the face view. Snapchat's Lense feature will be activated at the bottom of the screen. This feature uses special effects that can change the appearance of your face and voice.
You may need to touch and hold the face display on the screen for a few seconds. Touch and hold the screen again if the face is not scanned
Step 4. Browse for the Lense option at the bottom of the screen
Filters with voice changers are indicated by the text “Voice Changer in the center of the screen.
Snapchat periodically changes the Lense options it offers. You may not be able to find previously used options
Step 5. Touch and hold Lense to record a video
The red line will fill the circle around the filter when the video is recorded. Release your finger to stop recording.
You need to speak directly to the camera for the effect to modify the sound. You cannot hear the effect until the recording is finished
Step 6. Replay the video
Automatically, the video will play once it is finished recording. Now you can hear the modified sound of the filter used.
If you don't hear any sound, make sure the phone volume is turned up
Step 7. Edit post or Snap
Use the icons at the top of the screen to add images, text, and stickers to the post. Swipe the screen right or left to add a filter.
- Change the display duration of the post by selecting the timer icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Touch the “Download” icon at the bottom of the screen to save the post to the device.
- Press the " Share " button to share the post to your personal Story.
Step 8. Submit the upload
Press the blue button on the right side of the screen and select the friend you want to send the video to.
Method 2 of 2: Using Speed Modifiers
Step 1. Open the Snapchat app
You can change the speed of the Snapchat video which will also change your sound output.
Step 2. Double-tap the Snapchat camera page
Now you can use the front camera.
Step 3. Touch and hold the circle button to record a video
The red line will fill the circle around the filter when the video is recorded. Release your finger to stop recording.
Step 4. Swipe the screen right or left on the recorded video
There are several filters that can change the speed of the video.
- The filter “<<< (Rewind)” will play the video and audio in reverse order.
- Filter “Snail” (snail icon) will play video and audio in slow speed.
- The “Rabbit” (rabbit icon) filter will play video and audio at a higher speed.
Step 5. Play the video
The video will automatically play after it's finished recording. Now you can hear the modified sound of the filter used.
Step 6. Edit post or Snap
Use the icons at the top of the screen to add images, text, and stickers to the post. Swipe the screen right or left to add a filter.

- Touch the “Download” icon at the bottom of the screen to save the post to the device.
- Press the " Share " button to share the post to your personal Story.
Step 7. Submit the upload
