This wikiHow teaches you how to insert a ClipArt image into a Microsoft Word document on both Windows and Mac computers. Although the ClipArt feature in earlier versions of Microsoft Office has been replaced with the image search engine Bing, you can still find and insert ClipArt.

Method 1 of 2: Windows
Step 1. Double-click the Microsoft Word document you want to insert the ClipArt into to open it
You can also create a new document by double-clicking the Microsoft Word icon, then selecting Blank documents.
Step 2. Click the Insert tab in the upper-left corner of the Word menu ribbon
It's the menu ribbon at the top of the Word window. Toolbar Insert will appear below the blue band.
Step 3. In the "Illustrations" section, click Online Pictures
You will see a new window with a Bing search box.
Step 4. Enter the keyword for the image you want to find, followed by clipart
After that, press Enter. Bing will search for images according to the keywords you entered.
- For example, to search for elephant ClipArt, enter the keyword elephant clipart and press Enter.
- To search for images on Bing, your computer must be connected to the internet.
Step 5. Select the image you want to use in the document
You will see a check mark in the upper left corner of the image, indicating that the image has been selected.
You can also select more than one image at a time
Step 6. Click Insert at the bottom of the window to add the selected ClipArt to the Word document
Method 2 of 2: Mac
Step 1. Visit the Bing image search page at
You can follow this guide with Safari, Google Chrome, and Firefox. However, other browsers may not be supported.
Step 2. Enter the keyword for the image you want to find, then press Return
Bing will search for images according to the keywords you entered.
Step 3. Click Filters
It's a funnel-shaped icon in the far-right corner of the Bing page, just above the search results. You will see several tabs below the search bar and above the first row of images.
Step 4. Click the Type tab under the search bar
A menu will appear.
Step 5. Click the Clipart option in the middle of the menu
The search results will update, and you will only see the ClipArt.
Step 6. Click the image you want to insert into the Word document
Step 7. Save the image
Press Ctrl while clicking the image, then click Save Image
. The image will download to your Mac

Double-click the Microsoft Word document that you want to insert the ClipArt into to open it.

Click the Insert tab on the blue ribbon at the top of the Word window. Toolbar Insert will appear below it.
Don't click the menu Insert at the top of the Mac screen.
Click Pictures on the left of the toolbar. A drop-down menu will appear.
Click the Picture from File… option at the bottom of the menu.
Click the image you downloaded from Bing to select it.
You may need to first select the image storage location (for example Downloads) in a Finder window.
Click Insert at the bottom of the window to add the selected ClipArt to the Word document.
