This wikiHow teaches you how to delete the entire chat history with a specific contact on Facebook Messenger.

Step 1. Open the Facebook Messenger app
The Messenger icon looks like a white box with a blue speech bubble inside.
If Messenger immediately displays the chat, touch the back button in the upper left corner of the screen to access the main page (“Home”)
Step 2. Touch the “Home” button
You will be taken to the Messenger inbox page which contains all the chats.
- On iPhone, this button is indicated by a small home icon in the lower-left corner of the screen.
- On Android devices, this button is indicated by a small home icon in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Step 3. Swipe the chat towards the left (for iPhone users)
You can see the option “ Mute ” (“Silent”), “ Delete ” (“Delete”), and “ More " ("Other").
On device Android, hold your finger on the chat to open the options menu.
Step 4. Touch Delete (“Delete”)
This button is a red button marked with an "X".
Step 5. Touch Delete Conversation (“Delete Chat”)
Your conversation history with the relevant contact will be permanently deleted.
