You can vary your Facebook Messenger chat by changing the color and swapping the Like button for another emoji. These changes will be visible immediately and will be applied to everyone in the chat. The color change won't be visible on Facebook's Messenger website, but the emoji change will be.

Step 1. Open the chat which you want to change the color through Messenger app
Headers and chat bubbles will appear with new colors. This change will be visible to everyone in the chat.
The color change will only be visible in the Messenger app and not visible on the Facebook website Messenger
Step 2. Open chat details
iOS and Android require a slightly different process:
- iOS – Tap the person's name or list of people at the top of the screen
- Android – Tap the button in the top right corner.
Step 3. Tap "Color" or "Color.
" Chat color options will appear.
Step 4. Select the color you want to use
Changes will take place immediately and headers and chat bubbles will appear in new colors.
Chat participants will be notified that you changed the chat color and they will see a "Change" or "Change" link which they can use if they want to choose a different color
Step 5. Tap "Emoji" in chat settings to change emoji
The default emoji is the Like button next to the message type box. You can change the Like button in chat with other emojis. These changes will apply to everyone in the chat.
- Scroll right and left to see all the available emoji. When you select a new emoji, all chat participants will see a message and a link to select another emoji.
- Unlike the color change, the emoji change will be visible when someone opens Messenger via the Facebook website.
