Thick eyebrows are trending right now, but unfortunately not everyone is lucky enough to have thick and full eyebrows. Some people are even used to plucking their eyebrows in such a way that they can't grow back. Whatever the reason, you can improve the shape and thickness of your eyebrows by using natural remedies or using makeup to create a trendy brow look. However, keep in mind that the process of growing eyebrow hair will take time. So you have to wait patiently.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Growing Eyebrows
Step 1. Get rid of the tweezers
One of the best ways to help grow your eyebrows is to refrain from using tweezers until you get the thickness you want. It may be tempting to pluck out the hair that grows irregularly, but the shape of your eyebrows won't change if you don't let them grow back. It takes about six to eight weeks for the eyebrows to grow back. So be patient.
Step 2. Exfoliate your eyebrows
Use an exfoliating sponge or soft brush daily to remove dead skin cells from your eyebrows and stimulate hair follicles. Take a sponge or brush, make gentle circular motions on the eyebrows.
Step 3. Make sure you eat foods with proper nutrition
If your diet lacks the vitamins and nutrients needed to maintain a healthy body, it may be one of the causes of stunted hair growth. Try eating foods rich in B vitamins, omega-3s, iron, protein, and zinc. Also, make sure you drink enough water. You can also take a B vitamin supplement such as Biotin to help hair growth.
Step 4. Apply castor oil
Castor oil has long been used to help stimulate eyebrow growth. Dip a cotton swab in castor oil and apply it on your eyebrows every night. Let the oil soak overnight and wash off in the morning with a facial cleanser. Changes may take about three to four weeks.
Step 5. Use coconut oil
There are many benefits that you can get from coconut oil, one of which is as a natural moisturizer, and accelerates hair growth. Apply coconut oil to fingertips and brush on eyebrows, then leave overnight. Wash with warm water in the morning.
Step 6. Make a mixture of olive oil and honey
Olive oil is rich in vitamin E so it can help stimulate hair growth. Measure out teaspoon of olive oil and add a few drops of honey and stir until well combined. Apply the mixture on the eyebrows and massage for a few minutes. Let the mixture soak into the brows for 30 minutes. After that rinse with warm water.
Step 7. Apply milk on the eyebrows
Milk is rich in vitamin D, a nutrient that promotes hair growth, and is especially beneficial when applied to the eyebrows. Dip a cotton swab in a glass of milk and apply it on the eyebrows. Allow the milk to dry. Then, rinse with warm water.
Step 8. Use a hair growth remedy
If you're not willing to wait patiently for eyebrow growth or if natural methods don't work, you can use hair growth pills to stimulate eyebrow growth. There are a number of hair growth medications that you can choose from. So, do sufficient research to find the right remedy for the desired brow thickness.
- Some hair growth medications have been shown to work better than others. If your eyebrows are severe enough to be plucked too often, you may have to spend more money to buy a better quality product. Latisse, Rogaine, and Viviscal are popular products.
- Please note that some hair growth medications and serums are applied directly to the eyebrows, others are taken orally. Medications that are taken can help the growth of eyebrows, but these drugs also stimulate the growth of hair on other parts of the body. So, be prepared to face this before you decide to take the drug.
Method 2 of 2: Emphasize Eyebrows with Makeup
Step 1. Decide on the desired eyebrow shape
Before applying makeup, you need to decide what look and shape of your eyebrows looks the most natural. To find the right eyebrow length, use a pencil or something straight and draw an imaginary line from the outside of the nose through the outer corner of the eye to the brow. This is the ideal length for your eyebrows.
Step 2. Brush the eyebrows
Use a spoolie brush, and brush the eyebrows upwards, following the corners of the eyebrows. Brush from the thickest part to the tip of the eyebrow. That way, you can see any uneven or sparse brow areas.
Step 3. Use an eyebrow pencil
If you want to create a bold brow look, choose an eyebrow pencil that is the color of your brows or darker, and start applying your brows, especially where the hair is less dense. Use short movements, such as shading to follow the shape of the eyebrow hair.
Make sure you do it this way to give your brows a natural look. When applying eyebrow makeup, try to make the line drawn with the pencil blend with the eyebrows
Step 4. Apply powder
After shading the eyebrows with a pencil, choose a powder color according to your taste (if you want darker eyebrows use a darker powder color, and vice versa, choose a lighter color for lighter eyebrows). Using an angled brush, touch the tip of the brush into the powder and then brush it over the brows in quick upward and downward motions. Do this until you get the thickness of the eyebrows you want.
- Be careful not to apply too much powder to just one area. You have to make the eyebrows look even and balanced.
- Once you have the desired color and thickness, use the spoolie brush to smooth your eyebrows and get the desired shape.
Step 5. Maintain the shape of the eyebrows
You may already have the look you want your eyebrows to look like, but to keep them in shape throughout the day, it's best to use a clear or colored gel. Apply the gel all over the eyebrows so that the eyebrows look neat.
Step 6. Dab the powder on the eyebrows
The final touch to get thicker and darker eyebrows is to make the eyebrows stand out on the face. Use a round brush (fluffy brush), dip it in transparent powder and brush it around the eyebrows, following the shape. This step will further define the edges of the eyebrows and make the eyebrows look more prominent.
