Gmail is one of the most popular email services today. One of the features I find the most convenient is the ability to connect multiple email accounts (whether Gmail accounts or not) to your device via the Gmail app. However, sometimes you have to delete the account from the Gmail app. This wikiHow teaches you how to delete an existing account in the Gmail app.

Step 1. Launch Gmail

Step 2. Touch the profile thumbnail in the top right corner
This can be a profile photo or the first letters of an email address on a colorful background.
The placement of the Gmail app is usually the same whether you're using an Android or iOS device, but it can be different if you're using an older version of the app. If there's no thumbnail in the top right corner, try touching the menu button in the top left corner, then tap the profile thumbnail at the top of the menu list

Step 3. Tap Manage accounts on this device
This option is last in the menu that appears.

Step 4. Tap Remove from this device under the account you want to remove
You may have to click on the account first for this option to appear (depending on the device you're using)

Step 5. Touch Remove again to confirm
If you want to delete another account, touch the arrow

to return the screen and repeat the process as above.
If you want to delete the only existing account in the Gmail app, you'll need to type in your password or PIN for security.
