A trip to the beach can be a very pleasant and relaxing vacation. However, poor planning can turn a vacation into a painful nightmare, for example, you forget to bring sunscreen and your skin gets sunburnt. To prevent that from happening, you have to plan things well in advance. Take a few days to prepare for your trip.
Step
Part 1 of 4: Packing Bags
Step 1. Pack the right clothes
Put a swimsuit of your choice and some extra clothes in the bag. Extra clothes will be worn on the way home so you don't get wet and gritty.
- Also, make sure you choose clothes that are comfortable enough to wear throughout the day.
- Bringing a change of clothes allows you to go somewhere else after your fun at the beach.
- Don't forget to bring suitable footwear. Bring sandals for the beach and water shoes (special shoes for activities in the water) for activities at sea so you are ready to face any eventuality.
Step 2. Bring something to protect yourself from the sun
Don't let your trip to the beach end with sunburnt skin. In addition, protecting yourself from the sun will maintain the appearance of the skin so that it looks younger even though you get older and protects you from the risk of skin cancer.
- Choose a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15. Check if the product can protect you from UVA and UVB. Don't forget to bring a lip balm that contains sunscreen to protect your lips. Make sure you reapply lip balm regularly, especially after sweating or water activities.
- Wear clothes that can protect you. Hats and glasses can protect the face and eyes well. Long sleeves can also provide adequate protection. If you don't like wearing covered clothes, use a beach umbrella or a tent/gazebo.
Step 3. Bring something to sit down
A beach chair or towel will suffice, but if you use a towel, bring a different towel to dry off. If you choose a plastic chair, bring an extra towel to cover the chair so it doesn't get too hot when not in use. You can also bring an old blanket which isn't a problem if it hits the sand.
Another option is to bring old, oversized sheets. You can put a bag or cooler in the corners of the sheets. That way, you will have a comfortable place to have fun with your family
Step 4. Bring a first aid kit
Of course, you don't expect anyone to get hurt, but bringing a first aid kit will make it easier for you in the event of a minor accident. You can buy first aid kits at the store or prepare them yourself.
- Make sure you bring supplies such as bandages, antibiotic cream, pain medication, and a thermometer, as well as diarrhea medicine. There's nothing wrong with preparing an antihistamine too.
- Try to pack a variety of bandages, including band-aid bandages as well as roll bandages, gauze and medical tape. You will also need an antiseptic pack, hydrocortisone, rubber gloves, and a compress bandage.
- Do not forget to prepare all the over-the-counter medicines that you use frequently.
Step 5. Use a waterproof or waterproof bag
You will need a place to store valuables to protect them from water and sand. Choose a bag that is water-resistant or water-resistant so you can keep your phone and wallet in a safe place. No need to bring items that can't be replaced so they don't get damaged or lost on the beach.
- Another trick to protect your valuables is to put it in an empty, cleaned sunscreen bottle. Use this method to hide valuables from being stolen, and as a bonus, they will stay dry.
- You can also store electronics in airtight plastic bags for safety.
- To carry beach toys, use a net bag so that the sand doesn't get carried away in the bag. Put the food in the cooler with ice.
Part 2 of 4: Planning Activities
Step 1. Plan activities you can do together
If you're going with a group of friends or family, bring something that everyone can do. For example, a waterproof card pack is suitable for playing on the beach, as long as the weather is not too windy. You can also bring board games that don't have too many sections. Games like Twister, for example, would be great fun playing on the beach.
If there are children in your group, don't forget to prepare fun activities for them. Children can have fun with simple toys, such as buckets, shovels, and other inexpensive toys. They will be very happy to be able to play in the water and sand
Step 2. Don't forget to bring music
Music can be a great choice to make everyone feel happy. As a simple solution, you can bring a battery-powered waterproof radio, such as a shower radio. However, you can also use a waterproof Bluetooth speaker so you can play music from your phone.
Step 3. Plan activities for yourself
Maybe you want to laze around a bit, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying the activity alone. For example, bring a light book that you've been meaning to read for a long time. The beach can be the perfect place to enjoy a new novel.
- If you want to bring an e-reader with you, make sure you have no trouble reading it in the sun, and have a portable charger if you need it. You may also need a portable charger for your phone. Place the e-reader in an airtight plastic bag to protect it.
- You can also bring an activity book such as a crossword puzzle or Sudoku book.
Step 4. Bring snacks
If you're planning on spending some time at the beach, don't forget to bring snacks and drinks to recharge. Try to bring food that is easy to enjoy. If you're bringing something complicated and requires preparation, there's a good chance the grit will get into the food.
- Some food options to consider include: fruit, granola sticks, veggie lettuce, and bottled water. Avoid fizzy drinks because they are not enough to hydrate the body.
- In fact, if you're planning on spending the whole day at the beach, consider bringing lunch. Even if you have a cooler with you, it's a good idea to choose non-perishable foods, such as sandwiches or lemper.
- Bring a small plastic bag to put the trash because it can be difficult to find a trash can on the beach.
- Bring wet wipes with food. You can use it to clean your hands before and after food.
Step 5. Choose a convenient location
Many people like to spend their holidays on the beach, so sometimes it is difficult to find a strategic place. Try to come early when there are not many visitors. That way, the chances of finding a good location will be greater.
- Choose a location near the water, but not so close that you and your belongings won't be swept away by the tide.
- If the beach manager rents out chairs or umbrellas, consider taking advantage of these services for your convenience.
- Join diners who share the same taste. If you're going to the beach to party or have fun with friends, choose a location near people who like crowds and loud music. If you are someone who likes quiet reading, try to find a more secluded place. If you're coming to the beach with your family, find a place near other families where the kids can play together.
Part 3 of 4: Choosing Swimwear
Step 1. Wear tight underwear
When trying on a swimsuit, don't take off your underwear. However, you have to make sure the swimsuit fits your body size. Also, make sure your underwear doesn't clump together and choose a model that's tight to wear when you go shopping for swimwear.
Step 2. Choose the model you are comfortable with
Many websites suggest choosing a swimsuit model that will accentuate your figure, but actually any style can make you look more attractive. The most important thing to note is that you feel comfortable wearing it and like it.
- For example, you might think about wearing a bikini because you have fantastic curves. However, if you find the bikini too revealing and making you uncomfortable, try a tankini, which is basically a mix of a tank top and bikini pants, or a high-waisted bikini. Choose a fun motif and flaunt your body in that swimsuit.
- For men, decide what swimwear you want, and how revealing. You can choose swimming trunks that cover the entire leg or underwear model swim trunks.
Step 3. Try moving your body in all directions
You don't have to jump, but make sure to make as much movement as possible while wearing the bathing suit. Make sure the swimsuit stays in the right place because you'll be moving around a lot in the water.
Try walking back and forth outside the locker room or doing some jumping jacks while wearing a swimsuit to see how the material reacts. Make sure that no part of the clothing shifts and exposes the body that should be covered
Step 4. Don't forget to bring cover clothes
This outfit will be worn over your bathing suit as you walk from the beach to your car or while you're lounging on the beach after you've finished swimming. For men, T-shirts can be a simple choice. For women, you can choose shorts, a sheer top or a light cotton dress worn over a swimsuit or sarong.
Part 4 of 4: Preparing the Body
Step 1. Take time to shave
If you opt for a slightly revealing swimsuit and don't want to expose your body hair, take some time to shave before going to the beach. Shave your legs and any other areas that need to be treated, such as the bikini line or underarms, before leaving.
- If you're not confident shaving or waxing yourself, go to a salon and get professional help. Make an appointment to tackle the bikini area.
- If you're a man, you may need to shave your back or get someone to help you do it.
- Don't forget to check your shave in the sun as you can see more clearly with the help of natural light to make sure you don't miss any hairs.
Step 2. Exfoliate the skin
To make your skin look more radiant, take the time to exfoliate. Exfoliating will remove dead skin cells so your skin doesn't look rough or dull. You can use chemical products for this purpose or you can physically exfoliate.
- Chemical products usually use acid to break down dead skin.
- Physical exfoliation is done using small beads or seeds/shells that are crushed and mixed with liquid to remove dead skin. You can also find exfoliating gloves for this purpose. Even washcloths can be used for physical exfoliation.
- If you want to exfoliate, wet your skin first. Rub the product with your hands, gloves or washcloth in gentle circular motions. Rinse the product when finished. If you're using gloves or a washcloth, just use your usual soap and rub the skin in gentle circular motions.
- Focus on areas that are usually problematic, such as knees, elbows, and feet.
- After exfoliating your skin, apply moisturizer to your skin.
Step 3. Avoid foods that cause flatulence
If you want a flat stomach look, avoid bloating foods for a few days before going to the beach. That way, the stomach will not look bloated due to bloating.
- Avoid vegetables from the cabbage family, such as broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower.
- Instead, try healthy foods like avocado, eggs, peanut butter, salmon, bananas, Greek yogurt, and lemon.
Tips
- If you want to swim, choose a beach area that is supervised by a lifeguard.
- If you start to feel unwell, leave the beach and seek medical attention. Heatstroke can occur quickly when you are exposed to the sun.
- Make sure your body gets enough water. Therefore, it is important to carry drinking water with you wherever you go. You can easily become dehydrated, sometimes without you even knowing it.
- Make sure to bring sunscreen and sit in the shade.
