This wikiHow teaches you how to view archived chats in the WhatsApp app on your iPhone or Android device.

Method 1 of 2: On iPhone
Step 1. Open WhatsApp
This application is marked by a green icon with a white handset inside the speech bubble which is usually displayed on the home screen of the phone.
Step 2. Touch Chats
It's a speech bubble icon at the bottom of the screen.
If WhatsApp immediately displays the conversation, first tap the " Back " button in the upper left corner of the screen
Step 3. Swipe down the center of the screen
You can see the text Archived Chats ” is blue at the top of the screen.
If all conversations are archived, you can see the option “ Archived Chats ” at the bottom of the screen, without having to swipe the screen.
Step 4. Touch Archived Chats
After that, a list of archived conversations will be displayed.
If there are no chats on this page, it means that you have not/have not archived any chats
Step 5. Touch chat
After that, the conversation page will open and you can see the chat messages.
Swipe left on the conversation page to return it to the inbox
Method 2 of 2: On Android Device
Step 1. Open WhatsApp
This app is marked by a white handset icon inside a green speech bubble.
Step 2. Touch Chats
This tab is at the top of the screen.
If WhatsApp immediately displays the conversation, first tap the " Back " button in the upper left corner of the screen
Step 3. Swipe the screen to the bottom of the chat inbox
You can see the option “ Archived Conversations (amount) ”.
If the option isn't showing, you don't have any archived chats yet
Step 4. Touch Archived Conversations
All archived chats will be displayed.
Step 5. Touch the chat you want to view
After that, the conversation page will open so you can read or browse the chat messages.
