Have you ever felt like you couldn't wait for the lesson to end and wanted to go home? Maybe you just want to go home because of a fight with a friend or sad because of family problems. While skipping isn't a good idea (because you'll miss class), you need to know how to get home early if needed.
Step
Method 1 of 5: Faking Headache or Migraine
Step 1. Tell a few friends that your neck is stiff
A stiff neck is a sign that a headache will strike. If you don't want your friends to know that you're just faking it, it's best to start early to be sure.
Step 2. Rub the temples
Let teachers and friends see that headaches are starting to bother you. If necessary, furrow your eyebrows. Sensitivity to light is a common symptom of migraines or headaches.
Step 3. Show that you are weak
Even when you're excited, lower your voice and reduce movement. Don't let people see that your headache is just pretending because your actions say otherwise.
Step 4. Tell the teacher that your head hurts, and ask permission to the UKS
Make sure your expression is also supportive. If you don't appear to be in pain, the teacher may not agree. Keep rubbing your temples, and speak slowly and respectfully.
You can say, “I have pain on one side of my head, I feel dizzy when I see bright light” or “My head hurts so much, and I feel like ringing in my ears.”
Step 5. Explain your symptoms to the school nurse
Say that your head hurts all day. Add also that you are sensitive to light and sound. You could also say nausea, which is a side effect of migraines.
Method 2 of 5: Faking Stomach Pain
Step 1. Tell your friends that you are not feeling well
State the cause of your illness in passing. You can say, "My stomach doesn't feel right" or "I think I had the wrong breakfast this morning."
Step 2. Ask the teacher for permission to go to the toilet
Give the impression that your need is urgent, but say it politely. It's best to go to the toilet in the middle of a lesson, not at the recess bell. Chances are no one is on the toilet during class and you don't have to pretend to throw up.
Step 3. Return to class and report that you are still not feeling well
Say that you need to see a nurse. Create the impression that you should be sent to the UKS because you might throw up in class.
You don't need to use extra words. Don't say, "I'm going to throw up on the table if I don't go to the infirmary now." Say, "I threw up on the toilet earlier, I was afraid I would throw up again."
Step 4. Tell the nurse that your stomach hurts
Mention that you have vomited once in the toilet. Try to put on a pathetic expression. You can also say you might have a virus or mention some foods that make your stomach churn.
Make sure your story is consistent. If you tell friends you have the virus, don't tell the nurse about food poisoning
Step 5. Add another symptom
If you have a virus, you may also feel other aches and pains. Be careful not to describe symptoms that the nurse might suspect.
- Say that your muscles and joints are sore.
- Mention that you are very tired and weak all day.
- Report that you also have a headache.
Method 3 of 5: Pretend to Have a Doctor's Appointment
Step 1. Write a letter
If you are under 18, you must forge a letter from your parent or guardian saying that you should see a doctor. If you don't want to forge letters and signatures, consider another way.
-
Make sure your letter:
- include date
- begins with the sentence “Please give permission to _(your name)_…”
- state exactly when you should go
- explain specifically where you are going (to the dentist, ophthalmologist, etc.)
- said that you wouldn't go back to school that day
- contain the signature of a parent or guardian
- no spelling and grammatical errors (to make it clear that an adult wrote it)
- It's a bit wrinkled because it's stored in your backpack
- Remember that this method will only work if you are able to go home alone. If you have to be picked up from school, your charade may be exposed.
- The consequences of writing fake letters are sometimes very severe, depending on the school. There are some schools that provide detention, suspension, or in extreme cases, expel the student in question. Think carefully whether the risk is worth it.
- If the reason for leaving early is approved by a parent or guardian, they can write a valid letter of permission. So consider asking them to write you a letter before you risk faking it.
Step 2. Submit the letter as soon as possible
You will be more convincing if the letter is directly submitted as soon as you arrive at school. Adhere to school rules. Know whether you should leave it to the homeroom or principal.
Step 3. Briefly describe your situation
If your letter states that you should see a dentist, don't be mistaken in saying you have an eye doctor appointment. Give details to a minimum so you don't get caught red-handed.
Step 4. Go home
At the hour stated in the letter, raise your hand and remind the teacher that you must leave. Pack your bags and leave without any fuss. The calmer you are, the better.
Show a normal attitude. People will be suspicious if you leave with a bang
Method 4 of 5: Asking for Help to Get Home Early
Step 1. Decide who you will turn to for help
The best option is a parent or guardian if they don't mind you skipping school every once in a while or if they are sympathetic to your problem. If not, ask an older sibling or friend for help.
Step 2. Think carefully about the reasons for leaving early
Make sure your reasons are convincing so people will sympathize. Think about who you choose to turn to for help, and make sure you can convince him that your problem is serious enough that you should go home.
Step 3. Ask for his help
Explain why you have to leave early. Once he agrees that you should go home, tell him you need his help. Parents or guardians only need to write a letter and be prepared to answer if the school calls them. If you ask a sibling or friend for help, they may have to be prepared to lie.
- They can also make your story more compelling by picking you up at school at the scheduled time.
- If possible, tell them what's in it for them to help you. If you ask your older sister for help and come home early to accompany her to pick up the wedding dress, remind her that she will be happy to have you with you. If you ask your dad for help with the excuse that you're going home early because you just broke up, remind him that he really doesn't like your ex, and tell him that you'll be happier and healthier after having a “day to yourself.”
Method 5 of 5: Troubleshooting When You Want to Go Home Early
Step 1. Explain your situation clearly
If you are hesitant or don't clearly indicate your unfit condition, the teacher or nurse will not believe it. If you pretend to be sick, the key is to say exactly what you need, which is to get home as soon as possible.
- Don't confuse assertiveness with aggressiveness. Explain what you need, but don't be pushy or angry.
- When talking to the teacher, say, “I'm really not feeling well and I need to go home. Can I go to the UKS?”
- When you meet the nurse at the UKS, tell the specific symptoms you are experiencing. For example, “I am nauseous and have vomited once. I also have a headache and a cold all day. May I go home?"
Step 2. Immediate rebuttal
If your real reason is clear, and the teacher or nurse knows it, preempt them by saying it yourself.
- Say to the teacher, “I'm sorry I can't attend the group presentation this afternoon. Once I get better and go back to school, can we talk about the best way to make up for my lag?”
- If you're trying to convince the nurse to let you go home, say, "I know what teacher policy is about missing lessons. So, I plan to do my homework during Friday's free time, when I've recovered that day.
Step 3. Be prepared to magnify the lies
If you submit a fake letter, there's a good chance the school will call your home to verify that you really need to leave early. If your parent or guardian wrote the letter, make sure they are prepared to continue lying when answering phone calls. If you fake the letter, the solution is:
- Gave a number that no one would answer. If your parents are at work, you can give them your house number. Be prepared to delete voicemails before they get home from work.
- Prepare your accomplice to answer the phone. You can ask a sibling or friend who doesn't go to school for help.
Step 4. Accept the consequences calmly
If caught, the best course of action is to stop lying immediately and accept that you were wrong. Adults tend to be more lenient if you admit your mistakes right away. Politely explain why you're faking it, and say that you know it's wrong.
