The process to follow to search for and watch videos on YouTube is relatively easy! To do this, you need to access the YouTube website or use the YouTube mobile app on a smartphone.

Method 1 of 3: Using the YouTube App (iOS)
Step 1. Open the "App Store" app
Step 2. Touch Search
It's a magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3. Type "youtube"
Step 4. Touch "youtube"
This option is the first search result in the drop-down menu.
Step 5. Touch "YouTube"
Step 6. Touch GET
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
If you've downloaded the YouTube app before, this button will be replaced by a cloud icon with a down arrow
Step 7. Touch INSTALL
Step 8. Enter your Apple ID and password if prompted
Step 9. Wait for the YouTube app to finish downloading
Step 10. Open the "YouTube" app
Step 11. Touch the magnifying glass icon
It's in the top-right corner of your phone's screen.
Step 12. Type in the search entry
Step 13. Touch Search
Step 14. Touch the video you want to watch
The video will play automatically.
Touch any part of the video window to pause playback. Click again to resume playback
Step 15. Touch the “Share” button
This right-facing arrow button is at the bottom of the video window.
Step 16. Touch the sharing option
Some of the available options are:
- “Copy link” (video link will be copied)
- "Share on Facebook"
- "Share on Gmail"
- ” Share on Twitter”
- "Share through e-mail"
- “Share in a message”
- "Share through WhatsApp"
- “More” (You can share the video via a messaging app on your phone)
Step 17. Follow the required steps according to the selected sharing option
Now, you have successfully watched and shared videos on YouTube!
Method 2 of 3: Using the YouTube App (Android)
Step 1. Open Google Play Store
Step 2. Touch the magnifying glass icon
Step 3. Type "youtube"
Step 4. Touch Go
Step 5. Touch "YouTube"
Step 6. Touch Install
Step 7. Select Accept if prompted
Step 8. Wait for the YouTube app to finish downloading
Step 9. Touch the "YouTube" app icon
Step 10. Touch the magnifying glass icon
It's in the top-right corner of your phone's screen.
Step 11. Type in the search keyword
Step 12. Select Search
Step 13. Touch the video you want to watch
The video will play automatically.
Touch any part of the video window to pause playback. Click again to resume playback
Step 14. Touch the “Share” button

If you don't see this option, tap the video window once first

Step 1. Visit the YouTube site
Step 2. Click the "Search" field
This column is at the top of the page.
Step 3. Type in the search keyword
Step 4. Press Enter key
You can also click the magnifying glass icon to the right of the search bar.
Step 5. Click the video you want to watch
Now, you know how to watch videos on YouTube!
To pause playback, click any part of the video window. Click the window again to resume playback
Step 6. Click the Share arrow icon
This icon is below the YouTube video window.
Step 7. Right-click the marked URL
You can also click on one of the available social media platforms.
Step 8. Click Copy
Step 9. Paste the copied YouTube link to the desired site
Right-click the typing field (e.g. the email message or status update field) and select Paste.
Step 10. Return to the video
Now, you have successfully watched and shared videos on YouTube!

YouTube is a great source of a wide variety of content, from news to comedy shows

- The YouTube site may not load if you try to access it via a server with restrictions (eg internet network at school).
- Be aware of the time spent watching videos on YouTube continuously because you can waste a lot of time without realizing it.
