This wikiHow teaches you how to reset a forgotten YouTube account password. Because Google and YouTube use the same account information, changes to your YouTube account password will apply to all Google services and properties you use, including Gmail, Docs, and Drive.

Step 1. Visit the YouTube site
Use the link provided or type "www.youtube.com" into a web browser.
If you have successfully logged into your account automatically, but want to change your forgotten password, click the profile icon or inset in the upper right corner of the screen, then select “ Sign out ”.
Step 2. Click Sign in
It's in the upper-right corner of the browser window.
Step 3. Enter the email address
Use the address associated with your YouTube/Google account.
Step 4. Click Next
It's a blue button below the email address field.
Step 5. Click Forgot password?
. This link is under the button “ Sign in ” which is blue.
Step 6. Answer the security question
If you don't know the answer to the first question, click “ Try a different question ” at the bottom of the window.
Step 7. Click the blue button
The label (eg " Next " or " Send text message ") will change based on the security question answered.
Step 8. Follow the instructions shown on the screen
You may receive a verification code via email or text message. If prompted, enter the code into the fields prompted, or follow all prompts until you are prompted to create a new password.
Step 9. Enter a new password in the "Create password" field
Step 10. Re-enter the password in the “Confirm password” field
Step 11. Click Change password
Step 12. Click Done
Press the button after you've reviewed the account recovery information.
To change the recovery information or security question, click the link “ Edit " or " Remove ” in blue next to the information or question.
Step 13. Visit the YouTube site
Use the link provided or type "www.youtube.com" into the same web browser.
Step 14. Click Sign in
It's in the upper-right corner of the browser window. You will automatically be signed in to YouTube when you click the button.
