In this fast-paced, stressful life, we are exposed to all kinds of toxins. Unhealthy habits in the form of fast food, stimulants such as caffeinated drinks, and partying, are the things that keep us-humans-will resist the ever-moving pace of our lives. And who really bears the burden of removing these toxic wastes from our system? A pair of bean-shaped organs located in one corner of the abdominal cavity. This organ works day and night, 24/7 to filter out harmful toxins. When the toxic load is too much for these poor little kidneys to handle, their function slows down, making them susceptible to kidney stones, infections, cysts, tumors and eventually stop working. If you're looking for a way to give these kidneys a chance to work normally, start with Step 1 below.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Detoxify Your Food
Step 1. Drink lots of water
The most important thing in detoxifying the kidneys on a regular basis is to consume lots of clean water. Drink 10 to 12 glasses of water a day to help filter accumulated toxins. A good indication of consuming a lot of water is the discharge of urine that is clear and does not smell too strong. If the urine is darker than pale yellow, it means the urine is concentrated. Clear urine is an indication of a clean filter system. Liquids in the form of colas, coffee, and aerated drinks are not good substitutes for natural water.
A variety of teas and juices have been suggested to detoxify the kidneys, this is true. However, medically speaking, only clean and pure water has been proven to help your kidneys. It is true that varieties of teas and juices also have beneficial substances, such as vitamins and minerals. However, juices and teas also contain high concentrations of caffeine or sugar, which can also damage your kidneys. Remember that plain water is still the best
Step 2. Eat fruits
Potassium-rich fruits and vegetables help in cleansing the kidneys. Sour fruits like grapes, limes, oranges, melons, bananas, kiwis, apricots and plums are rich sources of potassium. Milk and yogurt are also good sources of potassium.
- Consuming these fruits in your diet or daily diet helps maintain the level of electrolytes in your blood which in turn keeps your kidneys functioning optimally. A glass of grape juice consumed daily in the morning or evening is known to clear the buildup of excessive uric acid, which is a by-product of filtering by the kidneys.
- A person must have a balanced intake of potassium-rich foods. Excessive intake of potassium can lead to a condition known as hyperkalemia which can be fatal, and lead to a heart attack. People who have kidney problems, such as kidney failure, should not have too much potassium. Healthy people are allowed to have up to 4.7 grams of potassium per day.
Step 3. Don't forget to eat berries
Berries, such as cranberries, help in cleansing the kidneys. Cranberries contain a nutrient called quinine (quinine) which converts itself to hippuric acid through a series of metabolic changes in the liver. Hippuric acid clears the buildup of excessive urea and uric acid in the kidneys. A cup of cranberries is enough to cleanse the kidneys every day.
Scientific studies have proven that cranberries are also very beneficial in medicine, such as preventing urinary tract infections, because cranberries act as anti-bacterial
Step 4. Include more barley in your diet or diet
Barley is another excellent grain that is used for cleansing, as well as to prevent the damage done to the kidneys due to uncontrolled diabetes. Note that barley is not a drug, but only a complement along with other ways to maintain optimal kidney function. Barley is a whole grain, and using barley flour in place of refined flour is a good way to include barley in your diet.
Another way to eat more barley is to soak a handful of barley in water at night and drink the water the next day. This method cleanses and repairs the buildup of toxins in the kidneys. It has also been shown that consuming barley regularly helps maintain creatine levels, or lower them to normal levels, in the case of diabetes
Step 5. Stay away from foods or drinks such as alcohol, caffeine, and chocolate
Although scientists are still debating this, the list of foods and drinks that might be avoided includes alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, nuts, and processed foods. These foods and drinks are not so recommended to avoid because they are not good for your kidneys, but these foods and drinks may have side effects for your body as a whole. Regardless of whether you detoxify your kidneys or not, it's a good idea to limit your intake of all the foods and drinks listed above.
However, be aware that these studies do not provide convincing evidence to support the claim that these foods should be avoided when it comes to the kidneys. As of now, there is no final conclusion when it comes to this matter
Step 6. Avoid protein
The only foods that have been shown to damage the kidneys are high protein foods. You don't hear that often, do you? It turns out that high-protein foods are dangerous, because their digestion and metabolic processes produce very high amounts of waste. This waste from food is called creatine and this is the main reason why patients with kidney disease have their creatine measured. If the creatine level is elevated, then there must be a problem in the filtering and cleansing functions of the kidneys. For this reason, to keep your creatine low, eat less protein.
- For adults with kidney disease, such as chronic kidney failure, it is recommended to limit daily protein intake to only 0.8 grams per kilogram of body weight per day. This is in accordance with the Clinical Practice Guidelines and Clinical Practice Recommendations for Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease issued by the National Kidney Disease Outcomes Initiative (KDOQI). Thus, for an ordinary adult male whose body weight is 60 kilograms, the protein allowed is only 48 grams per day. This is roughly the equivalent of just a piece of pork and a piece of cheese!
- Talk to your doctor about this beforehand. Protein is a very important element in your diet and for most people, protein should not be avoided.
Part 2 of 2: Explore Alternative Medicine
Step 1. Try treads or dandelions
Randa tread is an herb that is used as a food additive in various foods such as salads, dressings (sauces), tea, coffee, and chocolate. Randa tread is rich in potassium and works like a diuretic, which means it helps flush out excess water from the body. Therefore, the footprint is very useful in increasing urinary output.
As a cleansing agent, using 10 to 15 drops of tamarind extract three times a day is useful for detoxifying the kidneys and can be continued safely for up to 6 months
Step 2. Try uva ursi or bear grapes
Uva ursi is a wonderful supplement for kidney detoxification. Uva ursi helps repair inflammation and injury to kidney tissue caused by infection or kidney stones. Uva ursi contains a glycoside known as arbutin, which has antimicrobial properties, thus helping in treating urinary tract infections.
- There is more. Uva ursi works like a muscle relaxant that helps reduce swelling of the urinary tract or muscles. Uva ursi neutralizes the acid content in urine thereby reducing pain with burning sensation caused by infection.
- It is generally safe to use these supplements, however, patients taking antipsychotic drugs, such as lithium, should be wary. Uva ursi can interfere with the way the body gets rid of lithium and this can lead to high levels of lithium in the blood which can be toxic or fatal. Therefore, people with comorbidities should exercise caution before using uva ursi to detoxify their kidneys.
Step 3. Consider using a gokshura or tribulus terrestris plant
Gokshura is an Ayurvedic supplement-an ancient Indian medicine-that improves kidney health and is beneficial for those suffering from recurrent urinary tract infections and recurrent kidney stones. This supplement helps manage the flow of urine and also cools and cools the urinary membrane there by relieving the pain. In addition, gokshura also has antibiotic properties and treats bladder infections.
One gokshura capsule can be taken once or twice a day to maintain kidney function
Step 4. Try European barberry (European barberry)
Barberry is an ancient supplement known to get rid of kidney stones. In homeopathy, the parent extract prepared from this herb, known as Berberis vulgaris, has freed countless patients from renal colic and saved them from scalpels. However, the size of the kidney stone must be smaller than the diameter of the urethra, otherwise larger stones can harm the urethral epithelium when the stone tries to pass.
10-15 drops of barberry mother extract mixed with a small amount of water and taken three times a day often helps remove kidney stones within a few weeks
Step 5. Always talk to your doctor before trying alternative medicine
This detox is not for people with poor health conditions. Alternative medicine is not a balanced diet, is not consumed sustainably, and must be done correctly. What's more, certain supplements may not necessarily be good for you. To do this in the most effective way, talk to a healthcare professional.
Step 6. Certain medications you take to treat your blood pressure and diabetes can interfere with this diet and cause damage to your kidneys
Therefore, when you are taking drugs, you have to be careful. For example, a class of antihypertensive drugs such as the brand name ACE inhibitors (angiotensin-converting enzyme) such as ramipril, lisinopril, benazipril, etc., increase the level of potassium in the blood. Along with this, if you eat foods that are high in potassium, it can cause a very significant rise in the level of potassium in your blood which can be fatal. Patients who have abnormal creatine levels should refrain from eating foods that are very high in protein.
