The "booty clap" is a hip-hop movement that makes the buttocks produce a clapping sound. At first this movement was carried out only in videos of rappers or in male-only entertainment venues. However, the booty clap is a dance that many people are interested in, even small children and teenagers also want to master this movement.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Moving Up and Down
Step 1. Stand straight while straightening your legs
Spread your feet hip-width apart, at most shoulder-width apart. If you're having trouble keeping your balance, spread your legs wider apart, but the normal distance is hip-width apart.
Step 2. Stand on the ball of the foot
Slowly tip your feet to transfer your weight to the balls of your feet. If you feel unbalanced or feel like you want to fall forward, you can increase the distance between your feet. If you can maintain balance, spread your legs hip-width apart.
Step 3. Swing your body up and down
Once you're on tiptoe steady, start rocking your body up and down quickly without contracting your butt cheeks. As you swing, you can feel your butt cheeks slapping each other.
- This method is very effective for people with big buttocks.
- If needed, do this movement with your palms on the wall so you don't worry about falling.
- You can do booty clap with variations. Spread your feet shoulder width apart and do a squat. Lean forward about 45° while straightening your back and then swing your body up and down while on tiptoe.
- Practice regularly. Although this move may seem easy, many people have difficulty and are unable to do it.
Method 2 of 3: Bend the Knee
Step 1. Stand with your legs extended
According to the instructions in the method above, you don't need to put your feet together. The normal position of the feet is hip-width apart, maximum shoulder-width apart. You can bring the soles of your feet so that they are only 3-5 cm apart if it feels comfortable.
If you want to bring your feet closer together, place your palms on the wall or hold the back of a bench for support
Step 2. Stand on the ball of the foot
Slowly tiptoe to transfer your weight to the balls of your feet. Use a wall or chair as an aid if needed. In addition, you can widen the distance between your feet to maintain balance.
Step 3. Bend both knees slightly
Then, straighten your knees, bend them again, straighten them again. Start moving slowly and then speed up the movement as much as possible. Limit your range of motion once you start moving very fast so that your knee bend isn't obvious.
- In other words, you don't have to bend your knees as deeply as before. Swing your body on tiptoes and bend your knees. If done correctly, these two movements help you to do a booty clap so you can hear the clapping sound.
- This method is easier for people with large buttocks because the cheeks of the buttocks have to be shaken to pat each other.
Method 3 of 3: Back Arch
Step 1. Stand straight while straightening your legs
Similar to the method above, spread your feet hip-width apart, at most shoulder-width apart. If needed, you can spread your feet wider. For this method, the distance between the feet should be 10-12 cm.
Step 2. Point your feet
Use the strength of your calf and thigh muscles to tiptoe and then transfer your weight to your toes while maintaining balance. If necessary, place your hands on the wall or hold onto the back of a chair so you don't fall over.
Step 3. Arch your back back
You should puff out your chest while doing this movement. To make things easier, imagine that your back forms a C when you bend it. While looking in the mirror, adjust your posture so that it doesn't look weird and make sure the movements seem natural.
Step 4. Rotate your hips down in a jerking motion
Then, raise the buttocks by rotating them upwards. Do this movement while swinging your body and rotating your hips up and down repeatedly. After the buttocks are lowered, the momentum from the previous movement causes the buttocks to rise again on their own. Do this movement as quickly as possible until the buttocks cheeks are clasped together. You're doing a booty clap correctly if you hear a clapping sound on your buttocks.
- Use your body weight and bend your knees slightly so that you can swing your body. As you rotate your hips down, bend your knees slightly.
- Instead of relying solely on your legs, try to rotate your hips by arching your back back.
Tips
- To hear a pat on your buttocks, slightly spread your legs apart and then do a small squat by bending your knees slightly. After standing up, make sure you come back down to the same position. Although it feels a bit heavy, you can hear the clapping sound.
- If you have a small buttocks, practice diligently and patiently until you are able to do the booty clap well. However, you can practice booty bounce or booty pop.
- Booty claps are easier to do if you have a large butt.
