Step 1. Open Gmail

Visit https://www.gmail.com/ via your computer's web browser. Your Gmail account inbox will load if you're already signed in to your account.

Step 2. Click Compose

Step 3. Enter the recipient's email address

Click the " To " or " Recipients " text field at the top of the “New Message” window, then type in the email addresses of the recipients you'd like to email.

Step 6. Format the text of the email if necessary

If you want to apply formatting to the text (eg bold or italicize the text, or add bullet points), click one of the formatting options at the bottom of the email window.

Tips

  • Make sure your email is appropriate. Don't provide your home address, phone number, or other information in an email unless you're texting a friend or family member.
  • If you want to save the email as a draft on the desktop Gmail site, wait for the " Saved " button to appear next to the trash can icon, in the lower right corner of the email window.
