You can only exchange Pokemon for other games that are in the same generation: Generation I - Red, Blue, Green, Yellow Generation II - Gold, Silver, Crystal Generation III - Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen Generation IV - Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver Generation V - Black, White, Black 2, White 2 Generation VI - X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire Graveler can evolve into Golem when swapped. You need someone who has a Pokémon game of the same generation as your game. Your friend will have to trade the Golem to you after the Graveler you exchanged for them has evolved.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Redeeming Gravelers
Step 1. Find someone you can swap Pokémon with, or use a Game Boy set with another Pokémon game to swap
You will need to trade your Graveler to someone who has a Pokémon game of the same generation. For example, you can trade your Pokémon between Pokémon Red and Blue (Generation I) or Diamond and Pearl (Generation III). You cannot swap Pokémon between Pokémon Blue and Pearl.
- You can't use your DS to trade Pokémon between Generation III games. This is because the DS does not have a port for connecting cables.
- If you're playing Pokémon with an emulator, there's a separate way to do it.
Step 2. Add Graveler to the team
This is necessary when you want to trade Pokémon in Generations I to IV games. In game generation V and later, you can choose all the Pokémon you have.
Make sure that Graveler doesn't save Everstone. Everstone prevents Pokémon from evolving
Step 3. Connect your game system with other systems
How to connect the game system is different, depending on the system used.
- Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance - Use a connecting cable to connect two game systems. You cannot connect Game Boy with a different version.
- Nintendo DS - You can connect the system wirelessly within 9 meters. Generation 5 games can also be connected via infrared which is installed directly in the game case (cartridge). Use C-Gear in the game.
- Nintendo 3DS/2DS - Press the L and R keys, then select Player Search System. This way, you can trade your Pokémon for the closest game system. You can also connect your device to the internet and trade Pokémon online. Make sure that the friend you swap with will return the evolved Golem to you.
Step 4. Exchange Gravelers to your friends
Gravelers will instantly evolve into Golems when exchanged. Graveler level will have no effect.
Find out if your friends have Pokémon that evolve through the swap process as well. That way, you can make both of them evolve instantly in one swap. Pokémon that need to be swapped in order to evolve include Clamperl, Electabuzz, Feebas, and more
Step 5. Exchange the Golem back to you
The newly evolved golem will be in your friend's game system. Get Golems by asking your friends to exchange them back for you.
Method 2 of 2: Using the Emulator
Generation IV
Step 1. Understand the process
Since it's impossible to trade Pokémon via emulators, you'll need another solution for your Graveler to evolve (as well as any other Pokémon that must be swapped in order to evolve). If you're playing Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver, you can use a solution created by a hacker who loves Pokémon games that turns Graveler into a Pokémon that evolves when it reaches level 50. This method only works for US versions of ROM files.
Step 2. Download the ROM editor
You need to download a custom ROM editor from this forum. Follow the link given at the very top of the first post in the forum to download the editor, and this editor is very small. Don't forget to extract the file from within the ZIP after you download it.
Step 3. Open the editor
Run NitroExplorer2b.exe to start the editor. You may be prompted to install the. NET Framework files if your computer does not already have them.
Step 4. Load the ROM file
Press the "Load ROM" button and locate your Pokémon ROM file.
Step 5. Select the required files
You will need to select the required files based on the game you want to convert:
- Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum - Go to the "poketool" directory, then open the "personal" directory. Select the "evo.narc" file.
- HeartGold, SoulSilver - Go to the "a" directory, then the "0" directory, followed by the "3" directory. Select file "4".
Step 6. Click the "Reinsert" button
This will open a file browser.
Step 7. Select the "4" file that you got from inside the ZIP
There should be a "4" file in the same directory as NitroExplorer2b.exe. Select this file to include in the ROM.
Step 8. Close the editor, then start your emulator
After replacing the files in the ROM, you can start the emulator and play. Graveler will now evolve into a Golem at level 50.
Generations I, II, and III
Step 1. Understand the process
Normally, you can't swap Pokémon from one emulator to another, so you'll have a hard time evolving your Graveler. There is a special version of the VBA emulator called VBALink, which is an emulator that allows you to run four games at once. This way, you can swap Pokémon from one game to another, but this will be a bit more cumbersome.
Step 2. Create a new directory in an easily accessible place
This process can be done a lot easier if you keep everything you need in one place. Create a directory with the name "vbalink" or something similar and save it on your desktop.
Step 3. Download VBALink
You can download the VBALink emulator from vbalink.info. Download the "1.72" file, then proceed to extract the contents of the file into your new directory.
Step 4. Download this fan-made INI file
This configuration file will make the redemption process much smoother. Download the ZIP file containing the 3 INI files from the following forum page. After that, don't forget to extract the files into the same "vbalink" directory as the emulator files.
Step 5. Copy the ROM file into the "vbalink" directory
Copy the ROM files you normally use into the "vbalink" directory.
Step 6. Save the game save file into the "vbalink" directory
You'll need a game save file that's run far enough away that you'll be able to trade Pokémon with other players. The requirements for swapping Pokémon vary, depending on the game.
Step 7. Make two copies of the game save file, then paste them into the same directory
Copy the ".sav" file, then paste it twice in the "vbalink" directory. This way, you will have the original file and two copies.
Step 8. Change the extension of the game save file copy
Right-click on the first copy of the game save file, then select "Rename". Change the file extension from ".sav" to ".sa1". Repeat this process for the second copy, then change the extension to ".sa2". You should now have files with the extension ".sav", ".sa1", ".sa2" in the "vbalink" directory.
If the file extensions don't appear, click the "View" tab in Explorer, then check the "File name extensions" box
Step 9. Start VBALink, then slide the window to the left side of your screen
Double-click on the "VisualBoyAdvance.exe" program to start the emulator. Click "File" → "Open", then select the ROM file in your "gbalink" directory.
Step 10. Move your character to Pokemon Center
Go upstairs and stand in front of the woman who will start the redemption process. Don't talk to him first.
The keys that apply to controlling the character in the main window are WASD for moving, Q for the A key, E for the B key, and Z for the Select key
Step 11. Click the Options menu, then select "Emulator"
Make sure that "Pause when inactive window" is unchecked.
Step 12. Start another game on VBALink
Double click on "VisualBoyAdvance.exe" again to start a game in another window. Swipe the new window to the right side of your screen. Click "File" → "Open", then select the same ROM file as before.
Step 13. Move the character in the second window to the Pokemon Center
The buttons that apply to controlling the characters in this window are different. Press TFGH to move, R for A button, Y for B button, and V for Select button. Move the character to the Pokemon Center, then stand in front of the woman who handles the redemption process.
Step 14. Press Q to talk to the woman on the left screen
The game may freeze for a moment, so be patient and don't press any buttons. Select the "Trade" option from the menu that appears.
Step 15. Press R right after the left window displays "Please Wait"
By doing so, the character in the right window will talk to the woman who handles the redemption process. Select the "Trade" option. After a few moments, the redemption interface will appear on both screens.
Step 16. Swap Graveler to left or right screen
You only need one save file to save later, so pay attention to which screen you trade your Graveler on. Gravelers will instantly evolve into Golems when exchanged.
Step 17. Close the emulator after the game is saved
Once the redemption is complete, you will get a notification that the game has been saved. You can close the emulator at this point.
Step 18. Copy the save files you want back to your emulator
Select the storage file you want to use. If you want a save file from the left screen, select the ".sa1" file. If you want a save file from the right screen, select the ".sa2" file. Copy and paste the file of your choice to the emulator's original directory.
Step 19. Back up the original save files
Copy and paste the ".sav" file contained in the emulator directory somewhere else just in case the new file doesn't work. You can re-insert the old file if something goes wrong.
Step 20. Rename the save file
Change the file extension from ".sa1" or ".sa2" to ".sav".
Step 21. Load the game on the emulator you normally use
You should be able to load the game with the new save file with the newly evolved Golem in it.
