Ponyta is one of the first 151 original Pokémon introduced in the series. Ponyta is also known as a Fire type Pokémon and is a favorite among many in the Pokémon version of the game. Ponyta is basically a fire horse, with flame-shaped hair and tail, and a white body. Ponyta can also evolve into her second, majestic-looking form: Rapidash. There are no special techniques required to make Ponyta evolve; You just need to increase the level.
Step
Step 1. Level up Ponyta easily by battling Pokémon that are weak to Fire type
Fire-type Pokémon are strong against Grass-type Pokémon (such as Bulbasaur and Bellsprout), Bug (Parasect, Caterpie), Ice (Dewgong, Abomasnow), and Steel (Steelix, Aggron). A Fire-type Pokémon like Ponyta will deal twice as much damage as usual when attacking opponents of the above-mentioned types, so you can win battles easily and level up Ponyta more quickly.
Ponyta will only evolve into Rapidash when it reaches level 40, so winning battles against other Pokémon easily and quickly will go a long way in increasing their level quickly
Step 2. Don't fight Pokémon with a type that is a Fire type weakness
On the other hand, Fire types are very weak against Water-type Pokémon (such as Squirtle and Gyarados), Rock (Onyx, Geodude), and Ground (Diglet, Dugtrio). If Ponyta receives an attack from these Pokémon, Ponyta will take twice as much damage as usual.
- Ponyta may still be defeated by Pokémon of these types which have lower levels. If you're dealing with a Pokémon of any of the above types, put Ponyta back into the Pokéball or try to escape from the fight to save Ponyta's time and blood.
- Sometimes the Pokémon you encounter will prevent you from escaping. Prepare for events like this by purchasing some Pokédolls and Pokétoys.
Step 3. Bring lots of potions into battle
By bringing lots of potions, you can save a lot of time so you don't have to go back to town and restore Ponyta at the Pokémon Center. When Ponyta's blood reaches a low point, open your bag (by pressing the Start button and selecting Bag), then use a potion on Ponyta to restore her blood.
Step 4. Bring items that heal status conditions
Some Pokémon have skills that still affect their opponents after the battle is over. Skills like "Sing" and "Poison Sting" can make your Pokémon receive Sleep or Poison status even after the battle is over. By allowing Ponyta to suffer from these stats, Ponyta may be unusable in battle or you may cause her blood to continue to drain slowly.
- "Awakening" heals the Sleep state, while "Antidote" heals the "Poison" state, and you can use these items just as you would potions (Step 3).
- It should be noted that these healing items only heal status conditions and do not restore the Pokémon's blood. You still need potions to restore Ponyta's blood.
Step 5. Give Ponyta a Rare Candy to eat
If you don't want to bother leveling up Ponyta through combat, you can use Rare Candy. Rare Candy is an item that increases a Pokémon's level instantly, without the need to gain experience (Experience /EXP).
This item is perfect to use if you want to save time, but the number of Rare Candy available in each version of the game is limited, so it's pretty much impossible for you to make Ponyta reach level 40 just by giving Rare Candy
Tips
- When Ponyta reaches level 40, Ponyta will evolve into Rapidash automatically. You can cancel the evolution process by pressing the B button while Ponyta is trying to evolve. Ponyta will keep trying to evolve every time her level increases after you cancel her evolution process at level 40.
- Ponyta can still learn some special Fire-type skills, such as Fire Spin and Fire Blast, without evolving into Rapidash.
