Method 1 of 3: Smart TV Years 2014-2018
Step 1. Press the Menu button on the remote
The television's main menu will open.
This method works on all Smart TV models from the 2014 H series to the 2018 NU series
Step 2. Select Support and press Enter.
Options will appear on the right side of the screen.
The Enter key can be OK/Select on the remote
Step 3. Select Self Diagnosis and press Enter.
The Self Diagnosis menu will appear.
Step 4. Select Reset and press Enter.
The security PIN screen will appear.
If this option is grayed out, see the "Using the Service Menu" method
Step 5. Enter the PIN
If the PIN is never changed, the number is 0000. The Reset window will open.
If you've reset your PIN but can't remember it, contact Samsung customer service for assistance
Step 6. Select Yes and press Enter.
This step returns all television settings to their factory mode. This process takes several minutes and the television may restart more than once.
Method 2 of 3: Old Smart TV Models
Step 1. Press and hold the EXIT button on the remote for 12 seconds
Do it while the television is on. When the button is held down, the standby light will flash uninterruptedly.
This method works on all 2013 Samsung Smart TV models and back
Step 2. Release the finger after 12 seconds
The Factory Reset window will appear.
Step 3. Select OK
The television will be reset to its factory settings. When the reset is complete, the television will turn off.
Step 4. Turn the television back on
If the television is back on, you will be guided through the setup process like when you just bought a television.
Method 3 of 3: Using the Service Menu
Step 1. Set the television to standby mode
You can use this method for any television model, but only as a last resort. You can set the television to standby by turning it off using the remote.
The television is in standby mode if the sensor light on the television is red even though the screen is off
Step 2. Press Mute 1 8 2 Power on the remote
Press these buttons rather quickly. After a few seconds, a menu will open.

If your television doesn't display a menu after 10-15 seconds, try one of the following sets of buttons:
- Info Mute Power Menu
- Info Settings Mute Power
- Mute 1 8 2 Power
- Display/Info Mute Power Menu
- Display/Info P. STD Mute Power
- P. STD Help Sleep Power
- P. STD Sleep Power Menu
- Sleep P. STD Mute Power
Step 3. Select Reset and press Enter.
To get the Reset option, use the arrow keys (or channel keys). The television will turn off and reset.
- The Enter key can be OK/Select on your remote.
- Option Reset can be in another menu named Options.
Step 4. Turn the television back on
When it comes back on, the television will be reset to factory settings.
