The command line or command prompt can be used to easily browse various files and directories on your computer. If you wish to return to the previous directory screen, the process is not difficult. This wikiHow teaches you how to return to the previous page with the command prompt.
Step
Step 1. Run Command prompt
You can find it by typing " command " in the search field and selecting it in the list of search results.
Step 2. Type in the name of the file you want to view
When in the command line menu, you can see any file on your computer in text by typing the location (usually on disk) and the file name (including the extension).
Step 3. Type
cd.. in the command line. After pressing Enter, this command will tell the program to return to the previous folder.
The two dots in the command are very important. You won't be redirected to any page if you just type "cd" on the command line
Step 4. Type cd\ in the command line to return to its directory
If you want to return from a location to the main command line page, you will return to that page directly by typing this command.
