This wikiHow teaches you how to upload photos from your computer or phone to popular social media and image-sharing sites. These platforms include image-sharing services Flickr and Imgur, social media Facebook and Instagram, and internet storage spaces such as Google Drive and iCloud.

Method 1 of 7: Using Websites and Apps
Step 1. Open the site and app you want to use
To upload images to the internet, you first need to open a website or app that supports image uploading. Image hosting sites, social media, and cloud storage services support this function.
- If you need to be logged into your account to submit images, make sure you're signed in before moving on to the next step.
- If you have never used the service in question before, you will need to create an account before continuing.
Step 2. Look for the "Upload" section of the site or app
Segment locations will vary from platform to platform, but you can usually upload photos from the main page of your site or app.
Step 3. Click or touch the “Upload” button
This button may be labeled “ Upload Photo ”, but usually you need to select the camera icon or the arrow icon pointing up in the “Upload” section.
For example, on Facebook, you need to click on the status box and select “ Photo/Video ” (“Photo/Video”) below.
Step 4. Select the photos you want to upload
On a computer, you usually need to click on the “ Pictures " or " Photos ” from the window that appears, click on the photo you want to upload, and select “ Open ”.
On phones and tablets, tap on the “Upload Photo” option to open the gallery or “Camera Roll” directly. After that, you can select a photo and touch the “ Upload ” (or something like that).
Step 5. Upload the desired photo
Select the "Post" button or option. Sometimes, this button is labeled as “ Upload ”, while other sites or apps display this option as an arrow icon pointing up.
Many sites and apps also offer the option of editing or adding captions before uploading photos
Method 2 of 7: Using Flickr
Step 1. Open Flickr
Touch the Flicker app icon to open it (mobile devices), or visit https://www.flickr.com/ via a browser (desktop computers).
If you are not logged into your Flickr account, you will need to select “ Login ” and enter your Flickr account email address and password.
Step 2. Select the "Upload" button
On the desktop site, click the up arrow icon in the top right corner of the page and select “ Choose photos and videos to upload ”.
On a mobile device, tap the camera icon at the bottom of the screen, then tap a series of boxes in the lower-left corner of the screen
Step 3. Select a photo
Click or tap the photo you want to upload to Flickr.
- If you want to upload multiple photos at once via the desktop site, press and hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) while clicking each photo you want to upload.
- To upload multiple photos at once on a mobile device, touch each photo you want to upload.
Step 4. Confirm the selected photos
Click the button Open ” (desktop) or touch the button “ Next ” twice (mobile app).
Step 5. Upload the selected photo
Click " Upload 1 Photo " (or " Upload # Photos ”) in the top right corner of the page and select “ Upload ” when prompted (desktop), or touch the button “ Post ” in the upper-right corner of the screen (mobile app). The selected photos will be uploaded to Flickr.
Method 3 of 7: Using Imgur
Step 1. Open Imgur
Touch the Imgur app icon (mobile device), or visit https://www.imgur.com/ via a browser (desktop computer).
If you are not logged into your Imgur account, select “ sign in ” and enter your Imgurl account email address and password. On the mobile app, you need to touch the profile icon and select “ Sign in or Sign up ”.
Step 2. Select "Upload"
Click option New post ” at the top of the page and select “ Browse ” (desktop). For mobile app users, tap the camera icon at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3. Select the photos you want to upload
Click or tap the photo you want to upload to Imgur.
On the mobile app, you need to touch “ Allow access to photos ” (or something similar) is displayed at the bottom of the screen before being able to select a photo.
Step 4. Confirm photo selection
Click the button Open ” (computer) or touch “ Next ” (mobile device).
Step 5. Enter a title
Imgur requires every post to have a title. Therefore, click the " Give your post a title " field (desktop site) or tap the " Post Title " field (mobile app), then type in the title you want to use for the photo.
Step 6. Upload a photo
Click the button Share to community ” (desktop site) or touch the button “ Post ” in the upper-right corner of the page or screen. After that, the image will be uploaded to Imgur.
Method 4 of 7: Using Facebook
Step 1. Open Facebook
Touch the Facebook app icon (mobile device) or visit via a browser (desktop computer).
If you're not logged into your Facebook account, enter your Facebook email address (or phone number) and password before continuing
Step 2. Look for the status box
This box is usually displayed at the top of the Facebook page or screen.
On Android devices, touch the status box before continuing
Step 3. Select " Photo " ("Photo")
Click option Photo/Video ” (“Photo/Video”) which is below the status box (desktop site), or touch “ Photo ” (“Photo”) or “ Photo/Video ” (“Photo/Video”) which is below the status box (mobile app).
Step 4. Select the photos you want to upload
Click or tap the photo you want to upload to Facebook.
- If you want to upload multiple photos at once on a desktop site, press and hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) while clicking each photo you want to upload.
- To upload multiple photos at once on the Facebook mobile app, tap each photo you want to upload.
Step 5. Confirm the selected photos
Click the button Open ” (desktop site) or “ Done ” (mobile app).
Step 6. Upload the selected photos
Click or tap the “ Post ” (“Submit”) in the status window to upload the photos to Facebook.
Method 5 of 7: Using Instagram
Step 1. Open Instagram
Touch the Instagram app icon to open it. You must use the Instagram app to upload the desired photo.
If you're not logged into your Instagram account, enter your email address (or linked username or phone number) and password before continuing
Step 2. Touch the button
It's at the bottom of the screen. After that, a list of photos stored on your phone or tablet will be displayed.
Step 3. Select the desired photo
Touch the photo you want to upload.
Step 4. Touch the Next button
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 5. Select the filter you want to apply
Touch the filter you want to apply to the photo.
You can skip this step if you want
Step 6. Touch the Next button
Step 7. Add a caption
Tap the text field at the top of the screen, then type in the caption you want to use for the photo.
Step 8. Touch the Share button
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. After that, the photo will be uploaded to your Instagram page.
Method 6 of 7: Using Google Drive
Step 1. Open Google Drive
Touch the Google Drive app icon (mobile device) or visit https://drive.google.com/ via a browser (desktop computer).
If you are not logged in to your Google Drive account, click the “ SIGN IN ” and enter the account email address and password.
Step 2. Select the "Upload" button
Click the button New ” in the upper-left corner of the window (desktop site), or touch the “ ＋ ” in the lower-right corner of the screen (mobile app).
Step 3. Select "Photos"
Click the button " File Upload ” (desktop site) or touch option “ Upload, then touch " Photos and Videos ” (mobile app).
On Android devices, touch the option “ Images ", and not " Photos and Videos ” on this page.
Step 4. Select the photos you want to upload
Click or tap the photo you want to upload to Google Drive.
- On a mobile device, touch the location of the photo (e.g. “ Camera Roll ”) which you want to open first.
- If you want to upload multiple photos at once via the desktop site, press and hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) while clicking each photo you want to upload.
- To upload multiple photos at once via the mobile app, touch each photo you want to upload (on Android devices, touch and hold a photo).
Step 5. Confirm the selected photos
Click the button Open ” (desktop site) or touch the button “ UPLOAD ” (mobile app) to upload photos to Google Drive.
On Android devices, touch a photo to upload it directly to Google Drive
Method 7 of 7: Using iCloud
Step 1. Open the iCloud website
Visit https://www.icloud.com/ in a browser. Keep in mind that you can't upload files to iCloud via the iCloud app on your iPhone or iPad.
If you're not signed into your iCloud account yet, enter your Apple ID email address and password, then click the → button before continuing
Step 2. Click
"iCloud Drive".
This option is indicated by the cloud icon displayed at the top of the page.
Step 3. Click the "Upload" button
It's a cloud icon with an upward-pointing arrow at the top of the window.
Step 4. Select the desired photo
Click the photo you want to upload.
If you want to upload multiple photos at once via the desktop site, press and hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) while clicking each photo you want to upload
Step 5. Click Open
It's in the lower-right corner of the window. After that, the photos will immediately upload to the iCloud Drive folder.
Tips
- Some other platforms or places that are quite popular for uploading images, among them, are Tumblr and Twitter (social media), as well as Dropbox and OneDrive (internet storage services).
- You can upload images to almost any email service provider, such as Gmail.
