Most people want thick and soft lips. Almost everyone loves beautiful and attractive lips! Unfortunately, most people assume that the only way to have thick lips is through plastic surgery or lip injections. However, this method is quite expensive and risky. In addition, the end result is also sometimes not as desired. Cinnamon is a natural and quite affordable alternative. Cinnamon can be used to moisturize, thicken, and shed dead skin cells on the lips!
Step
Method 1 of 2: Thicken Lips with Cinnamon Powder
Step 1. Clean face and lips
Wash your face and hands thoroughly. You need clean hands and fingers to apply cinnamon. Before you start, wipe off any lipstick or moisturizer that's still stuck to your lips. This process must be done on lips that are completely clean. Prepare a clean cloth and then wet it with water. After that, gently rub the lips using the cloth. This will slough off the dead skin cells on the lips.
Step 2. Apply moisturizer
You can use Vaseline, petrolatum, or your usual lip balm. Apply moisturizer to the lips in a thin layer. Make sure the entire surface of the lips are covered with moisturizer. Make sure the skin around the lips is not exposed to moisturizer. This process is done so that the lip skin layer is not too eroded. In addition, it can also help moisturize the lips before applying the cinnamon.
Step 3. Make a cinnamon concoction
Prepare a clean bowl. Mix tsp ground cinnamon with a little Vaseline and stir until it becomes a paste. Apply the cinnamon paste on your lips using your fingers. Alternatively, you can also use a soft toothbrush.
- You can also use cinnamon sticks if you don't have ground cinnamon. If using cinnamon sticks, grind them first. Cinnamon doesn't need to be very fine, just grind it until it resembles salt or sugar.
- Alternatively, you can also add a pinch of salt to the cinnamon paste. This can make the process of exfoliating the skin of the lips more deeply. Take a clean bowl and mix tsp ground cinnamon with tsp salt. After that, add 1 tablespoon of Vaseline. After that, gently apply on the lips.
Step 4. Apply the cinnamon paste on the lips
Apply cinnamon paste all over your lips with your fingers (or a soft toothbrush) until evenly distributed. Once the entire surface of the lips are coated with cinnamon paste, press the lips with your fingers (or a soft toothbrush) and rub in a gentle circular motion. Do this on the upper and lower lips for 30-40 seconds.
- Your lips may feel a little tingly and this is normal. Cinnamon can slightly 'irritate' the skin of the lips, so the lips will be slightly red and swollen.
- Do not swallow cinnamon as it can irritate your throat.
Step 5. Let the cinnamon paste soak in
Let the cinnamon paste sit on your lips for about 3-5 minutes. After that, use a damp cloth to remove the cinnamon paste from sticking to your lips. Your lips will look brighter, fresher, and thicker.
Don't let the cinnamon paste sit for too long. Cinnamon will thicken the lips effectively after leaving it on for 3-5 minutes. If left too long or overnight, the lips will not look thicker. In addition, the lips may be irritated or the cinnamon may be swallowed
Step 6. Apply moisturizer
You can apply a clear or colored moisturizer. You can also use vaseline or petrolatum. Remember, don't skip this stage! After applying the cinnamon paste, the lips should immediately be moisturized again. In addition, moist lips will look thicker!
Method 2 of 2: Thicken Lips with Cinnamon Leaf Oil
Step 2. Make a cinnamon concoction
Take a small container and mix 1 tablespoon of Vaseline with 2 drops of cinnamon leaf oil (if you've never bought or used essential oils, you can buy them at your local convenience store or herbal shop). Make sure you use cinnamon leaf oil, not cinnamon bark oil. You can mix Vaseline with cinnamon leaf oil using a toothpick.
- Cinnamon oil is a natural product and generally will not cause side effects on the skin of the lips. However, if your skin is quite sensitive, or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before trying this method.
- When applied to the lips, cinnamon oil can also prevent motion sickness. In addition, cinnamon oil can also freshen your breath.
Step 3. Apply the cinnamon oil concoction
Rub the cinnamon oil concoction on your lips for 2-3 minutes, then let it sit. Cinnamon will slightly 'irritate' the skin of your lips and make them red and swollen. You may also feel a tingling sensation on your lips.
If the lips feel hot or sore, immediately clean the cinnamon sticks to the lips and then repeat from the beginning. Mix Vaseline with 1 drop of cinnamon leaf oil instead of 2 drops
Step 4. Use the cinnamon oil concoction as a moisturizer
After the cinnamon oil concoction sits for a few minutes, your lips will look thickened and red. Your lips will stay thick and bright for several hours. After the effect starts to wear off, you can apply this mixture again as a lip balm.
Tips
- Don't use too much cinnamon if you have sensitive skin.
- To prevent dry and chapped lips, apply a high-quality lip balm every night.
