In order to be able to kill all the enemies and unlock amazing content easily leveling up, you have to quickly level up. Read this article for tips and how to take your character to the next level, unlock weapons, challenges and other great content.
Step
Step 1. Open multiplayer mode
Experience (commonly called XP aka experience) determines rank or level in multiplayer mode, especially ranking on the internet. The faster you earn XP, the faster you can level up and unlock weapons and perks. Start joining online matches by selecting Multiplayer on the CoD:BO menu screen.
Step 2. Choose a game mode that offers a lot of XP
You can earn XP in each game mode, but some modes offer more XP.
- Search and Destroy (S&D) - this mode gives the player 500 XP per kill, 600 XP for killing enemies or planting/defused bombs, and 1000 XP per headshot.
- Demolition - this mode gives the player 50 XP for killing, 100 for killing the enemy who defuses the bomb, 100 for planting the bomb and making it explode, and 500 for defuse the bomb. Unlike S&D, this mode allows the player to respawn.
Step 3. Choose the right benefits
Before the game starts, you have time to customize your class and add benefits according to your choice of game mode. These benefits can help you level up faster by providing bonuses that are beneficial to your performance.
- Scavenger benefits will help players "scavenge" extra ammo and magazines, so players don't run out of ammunition easily.
- The Flak Jacket benefit reduces all explosion damage by 35%, making it important for Demolition and S&D, especially when players are planting or defused bombs.
- The Ghost benefit makes players invisible to reconnaissance planes. This is useful when sneaking into enemy territory, as players with Ghosts won't appear on enemy radar.
Step 4. Understand the game map
Familiarity with the map will definitely give you an edge in exploring the map during the game. Record the usual hiding places as well as the shortest routes to important places on the map.
Step 5. Choose a weapon
Choose a weapon that fits your play style. If you like walking around, you can use the M16. It's a decent weapon that's been available since level 1. You can use a sniper rifle if your style of play is to wait for the enemy instead of coming at them.
Step 6. Start earning XP
In Demolition and S&D modes, knocking out enemies is a surefire way to quickly gain XP. However, to boost XP even more, make sure you shoot enemies in the head, especially in S&D mode. Planting and defused bombs also gives a decent amount of XP.
Step 7. Switch the game to Hardcore Headquarters mode
After a few games, you'll find out how Demolition and S&D modes work. You can switch to the main game mode: Hardcore Headquarters mode. Here, it takes less bullets to kill and get killed. That said, make sure you've earned enough XP to get more benefits and more powerful weapons, otherwise you'll lose quickly in this mode. Adjust the benefits wisely, as this mode eliminates the mini map. Changing the type of weapon into a barrage is also the right way.
Step 8. Get more XP
You might get around 14,000 XP, and some players get as much as 26,500 XP in a single spin. One round can be done quickly if you are on or against a good team, but the XP earned can be fantastic. Thanks to Headquarters' style of play, as long as your team has a base, you gain 50 XP every 5 seconds, even if you die (especially if you live without killing a single enemy).
Step 9. Take advantage of the fight
This is important, especially if there are many players in the same room as you. With a good team, you will get a lot of XP after a few rounds.
Step 10. Beware of double XP
Sometimes CoD:BO announces that there will be a double XP weekend. Make sure you play online during the weekends to multiply the amount of XP you will earn.
