This wikiHow teaches you how to initiate a video call with a contact using WeChat on mobile and desktop platforms.

Method 1 of 2: On Mobile Devices
Step 1. Open WeChat
This app is marked by a green icon with two white speech bubbles. If you are already signed in to your account, you will be taken to the last tab you opened.
If not, touch " Login ”, enter the account phone number and password, then touch “ Login ”.
Step 2. Touch Contacts
It's at the bottom of the screen.
If you want to open an existing chat, touch “ Chats ” in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Step 3. Touch the contact name
You may need to swipe through the screen to find the contact you want, depending on the number of WeChat contacts you have.

This video camera icon appears as an option in the box at the bottom of the screen.
Step 7. Wait for the call to connect
The recipient will get a notification indicating that you want to make a video call. If he opens the notification, the video call will continue.
You can touch the option " Switch to Voice Call ” in the center of the screen during a call to temporarily turn off the camera.
Method 2 of 2: On Desktop Computer
Step 1. Open WeChat on the computer
This app icon looks like a green and white speech bubble. You can find it via Spotlight search (Mac) or the “Start” search bar (Windows).
- If you don't have WeChat installed on your computer yet, visit https://www.wechat.com/en/, click the appropriate computer platform in the lower right corner of the page, double-click the downloaded installation file, and follow the installation instructions.
